Which windows open and how far on a CD-22, CD-25 and TC 24?

I really appreciate the sliding windows, port and starboard, as well as walk through center/front, that open on my boat. It allows easy access to cleats, ropes, and neighborly conversation with folks located alongside in boats and on docks. Since I'm trying to learn as much as possible about the CD-22, CD-25 and Tomcat 24, with an eye to reboating this winter, I thought I'd ask this basic question. Which windows open? Do they slide or swing open? Do they lock/latch closed? How big is the opening? The presence of screens does not affect me, as we have few biting bugs here in the PNW on the water.

Thanks,

C.W.

On a CD-22, the center portion of the windshield swings up, and the
forward portion of each side window slides open. Obviously the
door opens, which when running at any planing speed causes an almost wind
tunnel effect if the center window is open. Plenty of air moves through the boat.

In really rough water, we have had to close the center window, and then
it gets warm. But that would be the case with any boat. I've only had
to do this once.

A number of us have also replaced the window in the door with one that
opens. We find it useful when bugs are out and yet you still want
to converse with someone in the cockpit. We rarely run with the
door closed, so I can't say much about the window's use while
running.

Hi CW,

On the 25, the front center windshield opens from the bottom, on struts. On either side, the forward windows slide open, not sure how far, but it's enough to put my arm out to hang a fender, grab a line, or visit with someone on the dock.
The small aft side window on either side is also a slider, but only opens a few inches. Not sure what your current boat offers for protection/access, but compared to most sailboats (our previous perspective), the protection, access, and visibility from the cabin of our CD-25 is great.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

CW, you didn't ask about the TC255, but it is set up the same as the 25.
