What should I do?

Lately my wife has been working a lot of evening shifts and for the past
couple months has been carpooling with a male co-worker. At first I didn't
mind, I would rather have someone with her in case she has car trouble or
something like that, but it seems that they have become a little bit more
than friends. You know the scenario, the phone calls that hang up, she
starts wearing nice clothes to work, talking about him all the time, etc. I
don't know what to think. If I'm out in the garage when she gets home
(usually after midnight) he just drops her off and leaves, but if the
lights are off in the garage and I'm in the house (they think I'm sleeping)
they sit out in the car for like twenty minutes. I asked her once what they
were doing, she said "just talking"....whatever. So last night I decide
that I'm going to see what really goes on out there. I leave the garage
door open, but turn out all the lights. About the time she usually gets
home, I go out and hide in the garage and wait. In a few minutes, his car
pulls into my driveway, and I'm hiding behind my boat. When his headlights
shine through the garage and onto my boat, I see something that I just
can't believe... The prop is nicked and one blade has been bent. Should I
change the prop or just get it straighted out?

Very funny. Fix the prop, of course!

I recall getting a phone call about 2AM one early morning a couple of years ago, woke me from a sound sleep. Some guy, in a surprised voice said "Uh.....Is Nancy there?" Thinking quickly :idea , I shouted, "Oh my God Nancy, it's your husband!! " and hung up quickly. :smilep

Obviously a wrong number... Looked very carefully in the paper for a couple of days for a homocide but didn't see any!

Roger,

I can see you've got your priorities straight! Such a thing is just unthinkable! Beyond the average husband's imagination! ...Shocking! .... Outrageous!

Yes, you're definitely in a tight situation.... what to do???? Send her out to get fixed or trade her in on a new model? Well, you came to the right place to ask such a mindbending question.

I am certain someone on this site has been there before... It is tough, I know. Who wants "damaged goods"? How reliable is the therapy? I mean you could get her all straightened out and then, bang, back to the old ways in an instant!

Good luck,

John

bummer dude, straightening it out is tough, thearpy is a big waste of time and money if the prop doesn't want to change. Being that the wife is working so much overtime, I'd say spend some of those overtime bucks on a new stainless prop

Situations like this can really pull a family apart. I think a confession is in order to get to the heart of the problem. Since your wife confides in this guy, maybe he can help you find out who nicked the prop?

My advice: kick her to the curb. No sense investing time and money on something you can't trust... replace that prop.

Or, just get rid of the prop and you may find cruising with temporary props to be more fun than you remembered.

This puts me in mind of an Ole & Lena joke:

Ole and Lena were awakened by a phone call one night. Ole answered and Lena heard him say, "How the hell should I know; it's 1500 miles from here!" When he came back to bed, Lena said, "Who was that?' Ole said, "Some guy wanted to know if the coast was clear."

One may have to be from the Midwest to get the full appreciation of this.

RETIRE !!!!! So you can devote more time to the boat....obviously your not spending enough time with the boat.
