What is the general drive out price of a CD 22' with 90hp?

I'm just trying to get an idea of what I may be spending, and if there is a cheaper trail that could support the c-dory....say...one from academy sports?

I don't have any idea what trailers Academy Sports sells, but I would suspect it is not up to the standards of what you want to carry your C Dory. The best trailer is tandem axel--if you are just going a short distance, then you may use a single axel, but be sure the trailer is rated for 5000 lbs (even though the boat may weigh slightly less. Have a galvanized or Aluminum/SS trailer. You may find one cheaper than the "factory"--but be sure it is set up properly for the C Dory.

If you want to save money--buy a used boat. There are plenty of them with the 90's and good trailers, cheaper than a new boat.

I believe price is relevant to the area, and options have to be considered closely.

I have well over $50,000.00 in my C-Dory, but it is loaded.

On top of that I wanted a dual axle trailer. Pennsylvania law requires a brake on every axle, so that too added to the price.

I also have a power-tilt 9.9 Honda kicker.

Yes, a lot of my options could have been eliminated. The price could have been less than it was.

In the end the price of a C-Dory depends upon what options you have to have and what you can do without.

Oh, the power-tilt Honda? Yes, it was overkill for now. But when I am 60 I may not want to pull that motor out of the water by hand.

Reckon the price is determined by what you can do without and what you deem necessary at the time of purchase.

Just boat, motor and trailer. As stated in this thread location and options have a huge impact on final price. Figure for a well equipt CD you could be something between mid to upper 50's before your done.

Thataway's advice was good -- don't forget to drop down too the lower right corner and look over the used boats. The older C-Dory seems to have an unlimited sea life -- a used boat is hardly used up. You can cruise many years on the savings.

Good luck!

Hi,

I paid about $9,000.00 about six years ago for a 1983 Classic Angler, 83-70-Johnson with trailer. I have since added a cockpit cover and a new 75 Yamaha 4 stroke engine, and some work on my transom.

I have myself filled in the spaces between the engine well and the sides with storage lockers, added a stern cockpit seat with storage under, a galley behind the helm seat, plus shelves ender the dinette table and beside the helm.

I think I have about $22,000.00 in the boat and trailer, and I am not about to get anything else.

Try the used market. C-Dory's used are well worth the look.
