Our time down here is coming to an end. We're outta here in the spring...and after 10 years of trying, we finally got Port Angeles, Washington. To say that we're ecstatic is the understatement of all time. It's a strange feeling because the last time I was happy at transfer time was back in 1995! This will definitely be our last move. Back to the NW where we belong. Salt water! Salmon! Halibut! Elk! Yeah, baby!

We're looking forward to so many things...

Anyone know anyone looking to buy a house in Wetumpka, Alabama? :D

Rick & Donna

Congrats on the new assignment, I never could wrangle a 13th District assignment despite many pleadings; the detailer gods have smiled upon you. But pray tell, what did you do to end up in cental Alabama as a Coastie?

:D :D :D :rainbow :hot :rose :rose :rose :!:

Come on up, the water's fine

Rick,

Congrats on the move. My son gets out of CG basic in 2 weeks and is going to Port Angeles to an 87' patrol boat. You'll have to keep him in line.

Seem like just yesterday you were headed sound to the land of heat and rain. Glad to see you coming back north. Hope to meet you this year.

Rick and Donna, welcome back to the good part of the country. We love our coasties here, and want the best for all of you! (Our house is around the corner from the USCG family housing in Astoria -- we really enjoy all those Coastie Kiddies when they come around at Halloween!)

Lordy, lordy...another C-Brat in PA. We're drivin' the property values down, I tell ya'.

An early welcome and congrats - and, first breakfast at the Corner House is on me.

Well as glade as the west coast is to welcome you home, the other coast will be sadden by your departure. It was my hope that you would stick around long enough to run out of mods on your boat and be willing to do the same fine workmenship on my boat.

It has been a pleasure to have known you and Donna and although I never made it to your doorstep in Bama, I hope to do so when buming my way through the PNW.

Happy Trails

Thanks for the well wishes, folks. We've had some fun down here...including the First Gulf Gathering back in 2006, but we're ready to finally settle down and stop moving. We're looking forward to meeting some more of you guys.

Tivo, I'm doing the recruiting gig here. This will be the second D13 tour...spent some time in Oregon back in the early 90's.

Mike, you can hold your own from the looks of your sailboat restoration!

and Bill, you're on. We can have a nice chat about fine guns over sausage and eggs. 8)

Congratulations! And welcome. I've already planned a special event for you at the Friday Harbor gathering May 14-15-16, be sure to come.

Congrats on the new assignment! And just think of all the money you'll save on sun block! 8) Love cruisin' in the PNW - sounds like a dream assignment for you. Keep us posted.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Hi Rick & Donna,

Reading about your pending move to PA is really exciting. We were hoping you'd eventually get back to this part of the planet. You gotta know that every time we see the ferry arriving here in Bellingham, we think of you and your trip here a few years ago. We're so-o-o looking forward to seeing you again. Take care.

Congrats on the move, folks. Sure sounds like the perfect place for you.

Barry, I said spring because in my pea brain that's when we get all of our prep done for the move, but we won't actually arrive out there until early June sometime...my guess at this early stage anyway. Thanks so very much for the thought, but we won't be there yet for the Friday Harbor event. What a nice thing to do, though. Thanks again to you, and to all who have offered assistance here and through PM's.

Ruth & Joe, it will be good to see you guys again, too. You guys are a lot of fun.

Rick and Donna: Wow... great that you scored your assignment. That is great. Knowing your loves, you will find many large times out there. Ya know, I keep finding ways to get out there myself.

Will never forget our first meeting and day in the nice warm Bama summer heat, butter fly cove, and the noodle training. Have for sure enjoyed our times together and hey....the Bama assignment was not all bad with some Donna's Casino stops firgured in too ya know.

You both for sure will be missed in our parts.... and, then, well....I will have 2 more reasons to spend time in the NW.

Congrats, and THANKS for your service.
