Downloaded the new 3.0 software, then downloaded the Navionics viewer and the US East chart from iTunes. All seemed to be loading normally, and then I get a "not compatible with this iTouch" message.

Drats!

Any ideas from the brain trust here what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed. Apple FAQ doesn't have anything about this, and Navionics and iTunes have not responded regarding the reported problem. I have quite a few of the Navionics Platinum charts, but thought this would be a cool addition to the toys.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

OK, some sleuthing turns up...

not compatible with the 1st generation iTouch because it doesn't have a microphone. Microphone? For chartplotting? Too bad they don't tell you that before you buy the app.

is there an app to just view charts like Fugawi Viewer?

Pretty sure I saw a Fagawi Viewer in there. The Navionics viewer is free, and the chart apps run $4.99-$6.99.

Which tide app are you using?
Any other marine apps?

thanks I enjoy your travels and journal

I couldnt locate the Fugawi Viewer but purchased the Navionics US East and West maps to see where everyone is boating. Very useful and fun.
I am using the free ver of Day Tides that does not need to connect to the web
