Ken I saw that news footage also, imagine my surprise. Made it down to Rocky Pointe yesterday via skyline as Cornelius pass is still closed.
Shearwater is still floating but did not get out unscathed, the kicker looks to be total loss (thank goodness I did not have my new 15 hp mounted). The 115 hp has some not so minor damage also and I now have cracks in the transom along the top edge on both corners. Still assessing the damage, did not want to move anything until I got additional pictures and have more daylight to finish checking things out.
What happened was the entire section of moorage sank from the weight of the snow and ice on the roof then resurfaced. My 3/8" three strand mooring lines were snapped like a piece of string and the structure came down on the motors. Thinking the only thing that saved Shearwater from sinking is that the water is only about 9' deep so the structure hit bottom before it could push Shearwater under.
Going back tomorrow to do a better assessment, lot of things I need to look very closely at (like the rear cleats with the snapped lines still dangling from them). I'll update with the details later.
I did post a couple of pictures in the Shearwater album that I need to resize.
Thinking I will contact the factory and haul her up to Kent for repair work.
