Forgive me if this has been covered before. I searched and couldn't find any references to this subject so here goes...
Wouldn't it be nice to have your daily forecast emailed to you twice a day? How about radar imagery? And wouldn't you like to be able to set multiple locations with forecasts and radar for each ? What if you could access it on a handheld device such as an I-Phone or Blackberry? What if it was FREE ?
After all these years I somehow never shared one of my favorite tools...until now.
I've been enjoying MyCast since my local NBC affiliate(KGW TV) offered it for free long ago.
It's now owned by Garmin. They also offer a mobile app for $3.99/month. I don't know what (if any) additional benefits it offers.
What I DO know is that I receive my forecasts twice a day for several different locations that I'm interested in.
Of course I have my home here in Vancouver.
I also get forecasts/radar for Cathlamet Washington, Warrenton Oregon, Garibaldi Oregon, Mossyrock Washington, Olympia Washington, and Gig Harbor Washington.
These are all boat oriented.
Since I also go snowmobiling I keep an eye on Mt. Saint Helens, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Bachelor as well.
Each has a customized forecast and zoomable, animated radar centered on it's location.
As long as I have internet access I can retrieve my info by desktop, netbook, or handheld device.
I heartily endorse this free service. Give it a try.
