Water pump

Getting a 25 cruiser up and running after it sat idle too long.
I have a Roadtrek Rv, so I’m familiar with a water pump and all
But I can’t figure out how to get this one pumping, and yes I did fill the water tank!!!

Has the pump seized up? Check hoses and all connections - if it is sucking air anywhere it will not pump water. Blown fuse? Can you hear pump? Make sure it is wired correctly or it could be running backwards- less likely but,,?

Possibly a leak somewhere? You'd probably see the water if so. Screen could be clogged. There may be a filtering screen between the water tank and the pump. Most these pumps have a pressure switch. If it's running, it's either leaking water somewhere, or not getting water. Any chance there is a shut off valve on the tank somewhere, or a winterizing tee somewhere? (Again, between the tank and the pump.)

First having the boat's year in tour side bar or in the post saves the replier from having to search for the year. The tank & pump are under the splash well aft of the cockpit. So that is where you start the search. What is the brand of the pump ? Check the strainer for air leaks & check the O ring seal; clean the strainer. check for a shutoff valve between the tank & pump.

You probably have a triple valve pump. some times these fail' but the pump motor runs. Be sure the tank is at least half full of water. Remove the hose connection into & out of the pump. They're maybe quick disconnect. check these O rings. run the pump with the outlet hose disconnected. If all is OK then disassemble the head & look for problems there.

There should be a manual on the pump with the paperwork which should have come with the boat. if none, it will be on line.

Come back to this thread. to tell us what you found.
