Wanted, new to us boat.

We are moving to a waterfront home in May and it has a boat lift waiting for a new to us boat. Looking for something that gets good MPG, good family boat, occasional fishing, crabbing, trawling, etc. Our budget is tight - 15k to 20k. Thoughts Brats? We will be located in Maryland. I don't want any "project" boats as I'd like to enjoy the summer/fall with the new boat. I'd love to have something that would allow us to enjoy until the ice shows as we are all weather boaters.

That Craig's list boat sounds exactly like the renamed R-Matey, which is listed for $23,500 yesterday in the C Brat for sale section. It is a 19 Angler.

If I was looking for a boat for the Chesapeake, I would buy a Tom Cat 255.

So after much research I thought I'd get more feedback from our vast knowledge base. We're looking for either a CD22 or larger vessel. I found the Albin 27 to offer a lot for the dollar, economy, diesel, head and galley. What I don't want is to try to fit to much boat into to small of a budget and always be doing "projects". I'd rather be crabing, cruising or eating. We're not big fishers, but enjoy the thought of fishing, we more cruisers. Economy, is a must. I also ran across the Prarie 29 but I am thinking they're too old and there would always be a project. I don't mind the cosmetic updates/improvements but do mind "major" issues that would take away from our using the boat. Thoughts Brats? PS the budget still remains top at 20. We were also looking at the Ranger 21 but being stuck at hull speed may not be the best as it's our only boat.

Anyone know details about the Albins? They seem like a good little cruiser, diesel, head, to beds all in a 27. I was attracted to the family cruiser as they can be had for about 20. Thoughts? Economy is a must for us, we are a family that uses our boat so the large v8's just don't make sense to us.
