Video-Lake Powell 06 c-dory gathering

All I can say is FANTASTIC!!!! :wink

Really allows us to enjoy areas we haven't been to yet and makes us want to get there!

Thanks for sharing.

Wow, Some skinny places in there. Very cool video. I'm marking it down on places to take the Dory. Went there when I lived in utah but we did it by canoe. So only saw limited areas near bullfrog.

Great Film, Outstanding narrative and Jo Lee...look out Hollywood...she can do her own stunt work. Thanks for the most enjoyable time, taking us with you on board and we didn't even get our feet wet.

Great video Jay and Jo Lee! I've never been to Lake Powell but have several friends that went once and now ALWAYS spend their summer vacation there, either renting or bringing their own boats. I can see why, still pictures just don't bring it out as good as a video. And just like you I tend to go places I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to extract myself later...all part of the adventure! Thanks.

Aw, man... not available to us Mac users. I get a message saying that file is not supported for Mac. Anyone know a way for us "different thinkers" to see this video?

TIA

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Thanks for the great viedo. Who is up for another trip and when? I would be
in if anyone knowes the best time. Spring I would think. Lets talk.

Sort of...

Parallels is a fantastic virtual machine environment for OS X. Actually, I'm basing that on feedback from a friend using it...I have it as well, but am running the Linux version under Ubuntu. It's pretty cheap.

If you have access to a Windows install CD, you can load up a simple virtual machine inside OS X for those annoying apps/web sites that are still in the stone age...

Unlike Boot Camp, Parallels won't require a reboot - you can run it from within OS X. Also, it's very, very fast...much better performance than previous virtualization products. Close to native speed, assuming you have a relatively new Mac with sufficient RAM.

Of course, a better fix would be to have the video uploaded to an OS/browser neutral video sharing site - Google Video is one such location, it doesn't have a small size/length limit, and it's free (hint, hint, Jay... :xlol )

Thanks for the tip, Bill. Two of our three Macs are new enough to be running the Intel chip (the other is my old stand-by laptop G4, that has the wireless broadband card). We had a couple PCs in our studio for processing software that wasn't available for the Mac (in the graphics world, who came up with that idea?). We tried Virtual PC, but it was like running in glue. I hadn't heard of Parallels... but then I do avoid most anything PC related. I will check into it.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Bill, very shortly I have to go to work tonight. Will check into the Google Video thing as soon as possible. Jim says Virtual PC was like running in glue. Anything I do with the computer is like running in glue.

Thanks for all the comments. Very pleased the Video was enjoyed. We sure enjoyed the whole experience while there.

John---We would like to go to Lake Powell again this spring, but we are presently working on a Alaska cruise in the spring and have limited vacation time.

Jay

Thank you folks! That was wonderful. Lake Powell has long been on my list to visit, and now all I have to do is let the kids see your video to move it up to the top. I guess I better wait until I recover from Christmas before I show them!

Thank you again.

Hint received. I've uploaded to google video. Now do I post it here the same as I did Mydea Videa Host or some other way. Don't want to put in another link that goes no where for Mac brats. Da Nag, if you know, let me know. If I don't here from you by tomorrow I'll just post and see what happens. Can always edit later. Bill Giese showed me how to it the way I did using Mydea by private e-mail.
