John -

I too mailed you a check today.

We may want to start a thread - "Top ten uses for an old C-Dory bulkhead door window".

Not that I'm going to do it, but it would be possible to mount the window on the bottom half of the door. Those with the new all-glass doors seem to like them. Personally, I'm not sure I want a better view of my cockpit floor.

The order for 7 cabin sliding windows has been placed, so design and so on has begun. I put down a 50% deposit. Per SDG, production will start in 3 weeks, they are very busy. Windows should ship in 7 weeks. If anyone else wants a window, I think you have about a week to decide and still be able to be part of this production run.

SDG said the vertical sliding window will slide half the window. The screen will slide as well.

Hey Moose, it's funny but I thought the same thing you did. What to do with the window we remove? Why not cut out below the new window and have a semi-full window door?

Not to dis' anyone, but I don't think I really want a full glass door. My luck, I will pull a Three Stooges trick and put something through the glass. I'll just keep it until I put something through the new window - I will at least have a replacement.

Again, thanks to everyone on the site for indulging us in this thread. Things happened very quickly. I hope everyone will be happy. We are taking a chance since no one knows if the window will give us the ventilation we really want or need. But it is the best we can do AND because we came together, Factory, Brats, and Manufacturer, we saved some bucks and will have a quality window to boot.

Keep your checks and money orders coming.

Best to all

John,

I just got home from being away a few days and will put a check in the mail today.

Also, check my post on the SCUBA thread and see if you can determine when I took my NAUI ITC.

I guess none of you new window guys are going to attempt the ultimate C-Dory modification and creat a glass-bottomed boat with the old window, huh?

Al-

Yup. I guess so!

Thought about it a couple of days ago, when the thread first surfaced, but at first considered it too wise-assed an idea to put down in print!

So much for caution and reservation!

Joe.

That is great news and thanks again for all your hard work. We can almost feel that breeze blowing through the cabin door...........it will be a great addition to our boats. Of that we are certain.

Just to let all you Brats who ordered the vertical sliding window for the cabin door know; I received them TODAY!!!!! :D They look terrific! I began packing the five that are to be shipped and will advise. Charlie, your window is at my scuba shop in Fredericksburg. It will take a couple of days to pack for the rest of you because I need to double pack, just to be safe. I will ship then pm or call you for the shipping total.

I will double measure to make sure they are correct, but, man, do they look good! I can't wait to put mine in; probably this weekend. I do not think that any of you will be disappointed! (Only those of you who didn't order) :cry

I will be in touch.
