Verticle Sliding Window in Cabin Door

I don’t know if this discussion went very far or if the windows were ordered. I just got my window package for the Marinaut from Motion Windows in Vancouver Washington and I believe they make a better window than Diamond Sea-Glaze. Our door window is a slider of about 15"x20". My price was about 60% of what Diamond wanted for the same window. If any of you want one, I believe I can get them for you for under $300 each, depending on size. It can be one window or 50 windows.

Dave, will this particular window exactly fit the door window on a 1998 C-Dory of 22 feet? If it does I would be interested in buying one.

Jim – the windows will be custom built to your specifications. I need to know the dimensions of the hole for the window, the door thickness and the corner radiuses. Once I have that, I will get a quote for the window and let you know what it is plus any shipping cost.

I may be able to get some of these dimensions at the Friday Harbor CBGT, but it would be best to get them for each individual boat.

Thanks Dave. I will try to get all of those dimensions, but I may have to take the window out just to get those dimensions. Can we just measure the current window dimensions?

There is more chance for error if I don’t know the exact opening dimensions, but don’t pull your window just yet. Let me see if I can find the opening dimensions someplace or someone may know and post that info here. If you want to know the price before you go to all that trouble, give me your best guess on the dimensions and I can get a quote, then you can give me the exact size to order, if you still want one. These windows come with screens. I will post pictures of ours on our web site this weekend and put a link here, so you can get an idea of what they look like.

Jim – I still have not been able to get the dimensions of the 22 C-Dory Cruiser’s door window. The only boats I have been seen lately are the newer one with the solid glass door and a 1982 Classic. If you are still interested, we can start a new thread asking if anyone knows the dimension of the 98 Cruiser door window cut-out. Below are photos of the windows Motion Windows makes for the Marinaut.

The slider is down and screen is up in both photos

Thanks Dave for the follow-up. I am still interested in the window and I hope that someone can take the lead with another group order like Joel did for the original group order.

I still do not know how to measure the inside window dimensions as I do not want to take the old window out without the new replacement window. Maybe Joel (SEA3PO) knows the model window number from the original group order.
