Reality check... It's not Verizon's fault the Blackberries crapped out. They "subsidize" your equipment by tying you into a two year additional contract. The other carriers have similar programs. When I got my Droid, the kid tried to sell me insurance for the phone; I declined. I understand if my Droid craps out, it's MY $500 to get another one if it's less than two years. It's business, not anyone being a bad guy. You didn't say, "Hey, let me give you something for these phones," when you got them "free" did you?
Most of us don't need a smart phone; we get 'em 'cause we want 'em. If a cheapie phone won't hold you until you're due for a discount (and another two year commitment), then you're going to pay something... either for a phone or the "escape."
Frankly, I think all the carriers are bloodsuckers, but I go with what works best for our situation. Keep 'em, dump 'em. If the next phone craps out or gets dropped in the water, THAT carrier will be the bad guy.
Hmmmm... this sound like a "pusher" situation to anyone else?
Can you hear me now?
Best wishes,
Jim
