TOW RIG STORAGE COST

STEVE

i saw the Prince Rupert storage being discussed......
$250 for a month surprised me.
i havent trailered a boat in 25 years ,
planning to retire in two years
and live aboard a cd22 roaming the freshwater
of these lower 48 states
like a Snowbird RV guy , only in a Cdory pulled by
a 4x4 pickup truck.........

so my question is this :
What kind of parking costs can i expect
for stays at lakes,canals,rivers
of duration one or two weeks to one or two months ?
is Prince Rupert way above the average cost here in the states?
Any strategies to find good deals?

i have been lurking at this site for years
looking forward to buying a Cdory
thanks
Steve

It truly varies. $250/month sounds high to me, also. We have paid anywhere from nothing to $5/day for truck/trailer storage. Finding secure storage is the key - and sometimes you have to pay for that. When we're home, we store our boat trailer in fenced storage and it costs $22/month. We find it helpful to ask for local information here and on other forums before heading into a new area.

You may not want to limit yourself to fresh water... there's lots of good salty stuff that makes for good cruising in the winter. :D

Best wishes,

Steve,
Keep in mind Prince Rupert is the main launching point to Southeast Alaska from BC. If you want to park there, you will pay the asking price or go elsewhere. Haines? Skagway? Bellingham?
Not your typical storage yard in everytown, USA.

When we asked around San Francisco what the marinas wanted to store our truck and trailer, we got the $250/mo figure. I then called the self storage places and finally paid $40/mo

what I'm saying is try the non-marine storage, of which there should be several in Prince Rupert. Such as this place: Rupert Towing & Lowbed Dispatch, 101 Shawatlans Rd, Prince Rupert BC V8J 1A, (250) 624-2722
