I'm a little bit colorblind, but ain't the stickers sorta the color of the shirt? I like 'em.

Nice picture, Tyboo. I'm guessing that is you a couple of years ago when you had (hmm, how to I say this in a politically correct, sensitive caring manner)....(guess, I can't)....hair.

(My hair used to be black, but it ain't no more, nor is there as much of it as there used to be..... :cry . )

Jack-

Just dye your hair ORANGE, and no one will notice the orange sticker color on your blue and white boat, whether you are seventy or from from the seventies, or whether you really have hair or not.

Orange Alert Status: What, me Worry?

On a more serious note, I'm wondering if all the states are doing the color rotation in a coordinated sequence so that even when you boat out of state with expired tags, the authorities can see your expired stickers?

Joe. :teeth :thup

GEE JOE!

You look just like a young Ronald Mac Donald... :wink

You're probably right about the colors.. :sad I never would have given them that much credit. :embarrased

:smiled Jack

Maybe the states are coordinating colors, but the renewal date is not the same. California renews registration in Jan and Washington and apparently Oregon renews in June.

We who live in the Northwet could no way get the stickers to stick in Jan.

South Dakota renews in January... a couple years ago when we needed to renew, we were told: "The stickers won't be out until March or April; you can't boat until then, anyway."

James,
South Dakota officials are sooo far behind. :sad I guess they haven't seen the new model "Ski-Dory" :wink Comes complete with duel trolling chainsaws and transum mounted post hole digger for ice fishing. :thup

Ya Sure and Uffda,

MN gave out orange ones a few years ago too. BUTT UUUUGLY on almost any vessel.

From a very soon to be retired DNR man (7 days!!!!), I'm sure you all know that reason for different colors is that it's conveneint for law enforcement to see at a distance if you are current.

Lots of you have been looked at from far away with optics and then left alone because of your ugly orange tags!!!!

Peace be with you all,

Capt Dan

Hey Fishhawk :star

I had a WA. Dept. of Fisheries Officer give me a ration of stuff because one of the numbers on my Livingston was loose and peeling off. :sad I went home and Painted the numbers down the hull with a 12" stencil (On a 13' boat). :crook
I was never stopped again. :wink

That's why I wanted black trim. No matter what color, it still works.

However, if you want Halloween colors.....Orange with Black isn't bad.... ...I just couldn't resist, Mark.... .

Maybe I'll hand out candy at Friday Harbor....

With this crowd of C-Brats at Friday Harbor, there will probably be a looong line waiting at your back door to "trick or treat".

Think positive, place a big ol' knarly Fighting Illini decal alongside the State Sticker (or, a team of your choice):

Boise State Broncos
Charlotte Bobcats
Chicago Bears
Denver Broncos
Detroit Tigers
Florida Gators
Illinois Fighting Illini (my undergrad alumni)
New York Knicks
New York Mets
San Diego Chargers
Syracuse Orange

The first intercollegiate football game was play on Nov. 6, 1869 between two NJ teams, Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the Princeton Tigers. Princeton' colors were, and remain, Orange and Black. They lost.

Oh, and if I remember correctly, the NY Mets colors, blue and orange, were chosen to honor two former NY teams, The Brooklyn Dodgers (blue) and the NY Giants (orange).
