The worst job at the C-Dory factory...

...has got to be shoving the foam seat cushions into the covers. When the poor sap who has to do that gets to the big v-berth cushion he'll probably quit. I'd rather smear fiberglass resin on my head.

Yeah, well, I got the little buggers. Then I took the foam out of the cushion I just got at the factory to make it fit a little better where it goes, and guess what?? Those guys at the factory cheat! The leading edge of the foam - the edge that has to slide all the way into the bag - was covered with a piece of plastic wrap to be slippery. Plain old Saran Wrap from the guy's wife's kitchen. Them CD folks are smart. No wonder they stay in business while others shut down.

Common trick in the auto upholstery industry too. That foam does not want to slide against material. I've seen plastic garbage bags used too. They slide the foam/plastic in and once it's positioned, the plastic is pulled out.

Works for putting cowboy boots  on over an extra pair of socks in the winter. Use a bread loaf bag. :teeth

I did a search on C-Dory once in Facebook. There are several individuals who list their employer as C-Dory. We get to see and own the results of their labor. Most of these folks look like hard working kids.

I might enjoy cooking, but in our house, the kitchen is definitely a"Pink" room. I get shoed out of there on a regular basis. Hey, it's OK, she is a terrific cook.

C-Dory has an in house upholstry shop, so I beleive that the cushions are interior window covers are done in house, other canvas by King.

Unless I'm wrong, which is entirely possible.

Matt, I think you're right. I bought a bunch of window covers at their garage sale at SBS09 and I think they were made there.

The kitchen in my house is mine. I share it with susan only for times she needs to bake ( which see does very well ) but if cooking of meat or more then one thing at a time needs done I just kick her and the dam dog out.

At the factory SBS party I inquired about canvas work and was told by a senior C_Dory guy that they are out of the canvas business. He even offered to sell me one of the sewing machines  I think the canvas (Sunbrella really) cockpit enclosures are done by King marine Canvas in Seattle. Not sure, but likely that the seats are too.

Lizzie, the Kitchen is the place your cat heads to as soon as you go out side. As you enter the house you will hear the sound of your cat jumping down off the counter.
Now do you understand?
