That's it - I'm DONE!

Holy cats, Captain Jim! That's very cool.

Buster was pawing the net recently and this one really grabbed his attention. My moderately-high mound of maintenance recognized Molly's mug and meowed. He's been a fan of hers ever since I met her five years ago and shared tails about her salty exploits at sea.

Congratulations on your literary achievement, Jim. This will make for fun couch reading while my landlubbing lump of love lays his head on my lap.

The only way I'd consider moving on would be to move up in boat size... and that would mean no trailering... which would mean living aboard. Joan says I can do that with my next wife.

She also said do not let that cat in the house. :D :D :D

One has to know which battles to pick. Generally, I try not to pick any when it comes to the Blonde. On the one you mention, I had Molly working on her with me. At this point, Izzy hasn't asked for a bigger boat. 8)

I'm not mentioning any names here, HERB, but I chose to get the boat that suited me right off the bat... as opposed to doing that "stepping up" thing.

A bit windy today, huh?

Best wishes,
Jim

Thanks, Brock. Does anyone else remember our chance meeting at the Ballard Locks... Brock rafted up to us and had no idea who we were... until he saw Molly? "Hey, you're Molly's parents!" Easy to see who made the impression.

Best wishes,
Jim

OK, Brat folks, one more small request regarding the book... I know some of you nice folks have bought it. I ran tests on it, with the ePub, .mobi, PDF, HTML, and simple text formats. If anyone has downloaded other file types, is it coming up in a good readable format? Smashwords tells me that it all checks out fine; I will need that to get on the "Premium List" so the book can be distributed through other on-line retailers.

Also, for those who bought the book, my sincere thanks. If you wouldn't mind taking a moment to put a review of the book on Smashwords, this struggling author would be grateful. Each review helps. Thanks!

Best wishes,
Jim

JIM,

I didn't buy it yet but recommended it to two friends, and have a couple others to send the link to. I did read all of Chapter 1 and some of 2 before I had to pull myself away. Never met Molly, but sure would have like to.

Great story so far.

I appreciate the recommendations, Harvey. I understand that if everyone I know buys a book, I'll still only make about 12 cents per hour for my efforts. But, if everyone I know recommends it to a couple people, I could easily push that to 14 cents per hour! 8)

I started to write this as a bit of therapy and "memory insurance." When I was nearly done, there was the moment of "what am I going to do with this?" We all think our pets are special. I've had a bunch of pets in my life. Molly was the only one who picked me. I've never seen another animal that made people smile by their presence; even people who are not "animal people.". That was Molly. And the reason I finished writing the book.

I hope you enjoy the story.

Best wishes,
Jim

A bit of good news today regarding the eBook: Smashwords notified me that the book has been accepted in its "Premium List", meaning it will be distributed by the big on-line eBook retailers. It may take up to 8 weeks to show up on Barnes and Nobel, less than that on most of the others, including the iBookstore at Apple.

And thank you, Charlie, for the nice review on the book.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Wow, 14cents an hour. More than I get for cutting the grass which is not nearly as enjoyable as writing on the Brats!

The review was well deserved but not nearly as well written as the book. I did not let the cats :cat :cat :cat :cat help me but then, they have not read the book, yet...

Hi Jim and Joan,

What a wonderful story so far. We will order the rest of your book tonight. Mr Grey would like the book, but he cannot read.

Cat people are about as nuts about cats as C-dory folks are about the boats.

Tell Izzy that Mr Grey says Hello.

Fred, Pat, and Mr. Grey(the cat)

Thank you, Fred and Pat; I'm glad you're enjoying the story. Little Izzy has only been around a couple other cats since she left the shelter. If their paths cross, hopefully Mr. Grey would be friendlier than the others. After one encounter where she got hissed at, little Izzy looked at me as if to say: "What did I do?"

Like Molly, she gets along well with most dogs. When out walking, we come across WAY more dogs than other cats.

Give Mr. Grey a little scratch under the chin from us.

Best wishes,
Jim

Fred, if that kitty can talk, he can be taught how to read! Bet he's a lot bigger now! :love :hug :cat
