stuck door

We are having problems with the door sticking shut. Suddenly won't open, in unlocked position. I finally was able to open it by pressing in on the door handle while turning it. Has anyone else had a problem? Our boat is a 2006 22 foot. The lock seems to be turning ok. Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Tara

I have that periodically and figured out that it only happens when the boat has been setting with the hot sun shining directly on the door. Evidently the fiberglass expands just enough to hold the door shut. It doesn't happen enough to cause me much concern so I'm not doing anything about it.

There have been two (or more?) different door styles in the 2000's and I'm not sure where 2006 falls. Do you have a full door made of Starboard with a half-height window? Or a full door made of a metal frame surrounding full-height glass? I'm thinking the latter but I believe 2006 was around the changeover time, so not sure.

I would blame the expansion of the Starboard in the heat. You might try spraying some liquid rollers on the door frame, and lock face. Probably not worth shaving back the edge of the lock recess..We have not had that problem with ours--and been in over 110 degree heat. The doors are cut to a template, and that cut can vary a few fractions of an inch.
