Storage in s. Calif.

We need to store the RV during the Catalina cruise. It is 42 feet long. All of the storage lots in Long Beach I called did not take any item over 36 feet. The place I have used in Lake Forrest area is closed.

I also tried Sunset Aquetic and they don't return calls ( I will drive over there to ask)

Does anyone know of a lot which will store an RV of this size for a week?

Thanks

You might try the Newport Dunes RV Resort in Newport Beach. We stored our 22' C-Dory there on its trailer for a week before going to Catalina Island. There is the RV resort, a launch ramp, marina and a storage lot. I don't know if they have length restrictions. The storage lot had mostly boats and boat trailers, but I seem to remember some RVs as well. I also seem to recall some large RVs that appeared to be stored in their main parking lot as well. We launched there the week after the 4th of July holiday and went the 32 nm miles to Two Harbors to join our Lake Pleasant Sailing Club cruise. Yes, we joined our sailing club cruise in a powerboat.

Thanks,

I had considered the Dunes as a last resort....so to say. I don't know their storage prices, but the overnight prices are steep--about $150 a night for our RV.

When I dropped off the C Dory 22, I noticed that there were two 25 foot slots end to end that were empty--and asked if I could rent two (all of $5 a day for each)--he said that there was a good possibility of that...so the issue may be resolved. If not, then we will actually drive by SunsetAquetic and see if they might have something similar, when we launch there--and probably will get a guest slip for notes of 3rd and 4th. She said she could get a place where we could leave the trailer separate from the SUV,so we can still shop and see friends....

Just used Sunset Aquadics. Left the truck and trailer for 10 days. They called me while we were at Two Harbors. Try this number (562) 592-2833. The number on the website did not work for me either. Their rate is 12.50 per day. Not sure about the Rv.

Bob, try Golden Shore Rv at 101 Golden Shore Long Beach 800-668-3581
I have had friends stay there during the Grand Prix, they say it's great.
They might know if there is anything else around
It's by the Aquarium of the Pacific

One other option to look at is the Catalina Express Parking. As per their website... LONG BEACH DOWNTOWN LANDING & Queen Mary - "$15.00 daily max per 24 hr period. Overnight parking okay but may not exceed 30 days without prior written contract. Cash, Visa and MasterCard accepted. Prices are subject to change. Discounts on groups of 20 or more vehicles, overnight bus parking, monthly parking may be available seasonally. Check with parking vendor for details operated by:
Ampco System Parking – (562) 432-5166 or by email: vcarranza@abm.com."

You all have a great cruise.

Bob , I was down at the launch I use in Long Beach and it's $12 a day and you can launch there. You pay in advance at the entrance kiosk.
South Shore Launch Ram
590 Queensway Dr., Long Beach. Small boat launch ramp located near the Queen Mary on Queensway Drive.
The area is patroled by the LBPD and F&G

Thanks guys. We do stay at Golden shores often. But to get a spot there for the week first part of August is both $$$, and not easy if at all possible during the season. It was our first thought however when we were doing the planing.

I'll check out the other possibilities, if Don Temple Storage does not come thru and get us a place which is long enough for the RV. None of the ramps will take a 42 foot RV plus a trailer--this makes the rig close to 70 feet long--most ramp parking spaces are from 40 to 50 feet long.
