Hello. Does anyone know the manufacturer of the rear boat seat/table as seen on the boat Sea Dog? This looks like a great design, would like to know where to purchase this product. I'm new to the site so bare with me as I try to navigate around, Cheers

Rod,

Welcome to the CBRATS. It's a great place and everything you need to know about C-Dorys, you can find here.

It would help to have the picture, or the link to what you are referring too. You can copy the address line and put that into your thread post buy pasting it there. Then someone can help get the picture into the thread.

Try it and we can see if we can help.

Most of the C-Dorys I know have a standard seat on the aft, port side behind the table. The tables do have several variations, even from the factory.

I was looking to mount one of the St. Croix Euro style bench seats (I have one in my shed) on my motor well (where some people have a cooler). I found that the height of the sill is really too high to make a comfortable seat IMO. You could put a bench seat in the cockpit (so it would be lower) but I thought that would take up too much room in the cockpit of my 22 Cruiser.

A folding bench seat might work. But it still might take up too much room and make access to/from the swim step and the engine too difficult. Folding jump seats in each aft corner of the cockpit might work ok if they are small enough when stowed.

I have a Garelick seat that attaches to the back bulkhead but we never use it. It is easier to have a couple of folding patio chairs that can be moved around or stowed as necessary.

We need to find a link to Sea Dog. Can't seem to search the member list visually (135 PAGES) or electronically. "SEA" + "DOG" = hits unlimited. Grrrrr..........!!! Ha!

Yes that is the seat/table set up I was looking at. Does anyone know the brand or possible retailer that sells it? Can anyone educate me on how to insert photos with a reply?
Thanks guys

That's a nice seat setup. It takes up so little cockpit real estate too; that's the best part. Maybe it's a custom piece?

To insert a picture you click on "Img" first and then paste the address and then click "Img" again.

It looks custom to me. It looks like a large piece of cutting board material, cut to shape and permanently screwed to the transom, makes the base. Then the cushion is like the kind you can buy for coolers, notice the flap that snaps on the front. This one is custom since it is tapered to fit, but the cooler one would work.

I think the backrest is by Taco Marine; they have the same pointy fittings and slip into pole holder tubes. The tubing would be custom, but a pretty simple and elegant design.

I'm glad I saw this. My son in law works at the ship yard here. Now I have ideas! I just need the right boat to go with them.

I agree that the seat back is a TACO I have one on my Caracal:

The bottom can be easily made of Starboard--and then you can have any upholstery shop make the bottom cushion to fit.

We use coolers to sit on, and lean against the combing of the sides of the cockpit.
