Splash Well Matt

I have seen a few people use different types of matting inside of their splash well. I am hoping to see some pictures of different products people have used for this. Different fishing partners like to use this area to store different equipment and junk. I am a little obsessive about preventing black marks and scuffs, and I also really like the look a matt adds.
 
I don't have any photos, but we have used mat type of rugs, and Ozite indoor outdoor thick carpet in the splash well. Be sure it is something which drains well, and does not retain water.
 
Thank you for your response. I agree it is very necessary to use something that will self drain and dry. I cant seem to find anything in home depot that would work for this.
 
In the past I've used some Dri-Deck scraps I had on hand. Not saying it was ultimate or anything, but a possible option.

(Now I have a "bridge" (from swim platform to cockpit) on port side and the kicker is on starboard -- plus a board across the top at the lazarettes -- so I don't tend to stow anything right on the splashwell.)
 
I used Hydroturf on mine. It is what they use on personal water craft. Mine has been on there for eight years now still looks good. Just google images plenty of pictures out there.

This looks interesting - good to know about, thanks. I've been a little bummed ever since Kiwi Tile went under, as I don't really like the texture of Dri-Deck (plus as a surface to walk on it gets "wobbly" in the heat when the little legs get warm).

(Although, huh -- last time I contacted Kiwi tile, they said they were just going out of business and they barely had any stock left; but now looking online it looks like maybe they are still/backl in business? Might have to check into it after things get going again after Jan 1.)
 
Just read a thread on "The Hull Truth" about Hydroturf. At least a couple of users have had it deteriorate after a year or two with no help from Hydroturf when they contacted them. Most who had installed it liked and defended it. I have no experience with it, but Seadek seems to be a somewhat more expensive alternative with a very good reputation.
