Hey Brats - (but I'm the biggest brat of all :smilep )

My apologies to all for not identifying myself and requesting pictures :embarrased :embarrased

I'm Casey from C-Dory Marine Group at the Auburn Plant. I am the receptionist and receive phone calls from potential buyers for pictures or magazine's doing articles on various aspects of boating. Sometimes C-Dory is mentioned in the article, and sometimes they just need a picture. I've also had requests in the past for one of our boats showing the Suzuki motor.

Interior shots are usually needed for potential buyers.

My pictures need to be hi-res for the magazines.

Thank you all for being so understanding :D

Casey,
If you need high resolution photos, they will have to be sent on CD's because you will probably not have the file size needed for magazine color photos via E-mail. You probably will want photos taken with pro-am or professional quality cameras and lenses. I suspect that files will be 5 to 12 MB (or more) for magazine quality photos.

Are you also the publicity director? I wondered when you asked me for photos of the interior and person at the helm of the Tom Cat 255, why C Dory didn't have stock photos which could be sent to the dealers, so that the dealer network could be involved in the sales process?

I ask this question because it was my understanding that C Dory was out of the business of direct factory selling. It seemed that the sales process then should be farmed out to the dealer network.

Regards,

Casey and Bob

Folks can use DropLoad, DropSend, YouSendIt, SendThisFile, and Streamload. With these utilities, you upload your big files to the Web--generally it's quite easy to do so--then on the Web site, you say who you want to receive the files. Your recipient gets e-mail from you with a link to the files. Only Web addresses go through the e-mail, so no servers or services are likely to block the messages.
I use the free YouSendiT service often.

Welcome Bob and thanks a million for your contributions and sharing your knowledge and experience. The free account also will store the file(s) for a brief period of time. Paid accounts provide more features and these services are better than email when sending large files plus the ease of use With paid services, you send them a customized URL and they upload their files. I dont use these services often enough to upgrade b/c I prefer ftp. If folks use ftp then the free ftp client Filezilla is excellent or RightLoad a web based ftp service to upload multiple images and useful to everyone to upload an occasional file to your ftp site.
