Noticing windows are getting harder to slide. What would be good to spray in tracks? Thanks

We use Liquid Rollers spray, works well.

I used Slide-All (or equivalent), which is a a "dry" Teflon spray.

(I prefer not to use silicone products on the boat, and I think the Polydimethylsiloxane in Liquid Rollers is a silicone - although I'm not a chemist so I'm not positive.)

Elsie the cow has a dry aresol at Ace, its for sliding windows. :thup

Before you spray anything in the tracks, try cleaning them with vinegar water (especially if you have been in saltwater or dusty areas). Let the furry stuff dry, then use a spray (like others, we had good experience with Liquid Rollers).

I would first use water to spray out the window channels top and bottom. The bottom channel has drain that's prone to clogging. Make sure that drain isn't clogged. Once you have get the junk out of there I would use WD 40 water resistant silicone spray. It has a yellow top and a black and gray colored aerosol can. Quick drying, no messy residue they say

The handles on our sliding windows have come off. What are they glued on with? The boat had been stored for 3 yers.

Try using the glue/adhesive they glue rear-view mirrors to the inside of windshields with.

Alternately, ask Diamond Sea Glaze (who makes the windows):

Joe. :teeth :thup

One of my handles came off. Got a replacement from Diamond Seaglaze and put it on according to the instructions. It started coming loose soon after. Pulled it of and glued it on with 5200. Still stuck firm.

Tried the rear view mirror glue--didn't work. I ended up with epoxy--still good several years later.
