Just a note to let folks know that the Shawl Bay Marina, located in Shawl Bay, Broughton Islands area, BC Canada is open for business.

Contrary to rumor, the marina is operating and offers moorage, water, power, laundry and showers, wifi, and fresh bakery products. A pancake and coffee breakfast is included with moorage. The owners, Lorne and Shawn Brown welcome all boaters. A BYO happy hour starts at 5 PM daily on the party float. On each Sunday thru Aug they host a fish chowder or deep fried turkey dinner. The marina answers on VHF 66A.

We have been stopping at this marina for a few years and enjoy meeting our boating friends there.

This is one of my favorites. Shawn's pies are great. I haven't been there since '06, but it is a very nice place. Do they still do the pancake breakfast?

We had a great time there a few years ago--very much worth a stop. One of several really great small and isolated "marina/camps".
