Seasports web site

Greetings to all C Brats & Triton Industries,

Best wishes to all the fine people associated with Triton Industries for a long and successful business operation. Their long track record of building quality boats speaks for itself and regardless of what I posted in the past pertaining to "warranties" my message was not directed to those at Triton. I simply should not have posted anything about the subject in the first place, but this is our place to blab off...right or wrong.

I think we have every right to say that about the warranty Scott! Look how long SeaSports were built and you guys seemed to $%^Y that up! If we are wrong and all we can do is speculate then tell us the truth. Ya this a bad Economy but come on You guys you made a mistake! I would like to know What the Wright brothers feel about this! Its sad I have always been A proud owner and yes Im upset.

Just a thought from the peanut gallery for anyone buying a new C Dory or anyone of the boats that Triton is manufacturing. The prospective buyer should assume the so called 5 year warranty will be written in sand on a very windy beach. If they (Triton) can't find sand to write the warranty on they'll use disappearing ink. Just a warning. The company is on very shaky ground.

After reading this statement I could not let it pass without factory input. The Sea Sport saga has definitely been hashed out on this forum in detail and is not "New" news anymore, but I realize the curiosity factor it has brought forth and accept it for what it is. However, to go past idle curiosity and comment about Triton and our standing in the marketplace on a forum such as this, when you do not have reliable information, is nothing more than irresponsible speculation which does nothing to support our or your Cdory product line. We are NOT on anymore shaky ground with the CDory, Skagit Orca or Osprey lines than we were last year at this time, in fact we are in a much stronger position, and to state that our warranty is non-existent is very misleading and unfortunately incorrect. We have, since the purchase of Cdory, taken to heart the ideas and thoughts of the Cbrats website and have found it to be a very resourceful, non-judgemental avenue for idea generation and or comments. As such I would hope that you would want to clarify your statement and/or at the very least offer an apology to all of the hardworking employees at Triton who are working tirelessly to maintain and grow all the product lines under our Triton Banner, in a marketplace that has become ever increasingly difficult to do business in.

aknelson820 appears to be another happy SeaSport owner.

Glad I bought C-Dory.

Ummm, not to stir up the hornets' nest, but there were more than a few upset folks when they learned there would be no warranty on their C-Dory after Fluid sold out.

I am not aware of ANY company that tanked due to this economy that was happy about it. it's a different business world out there and no business is immune to the perils of diminishing sales and no available credit for potential customers.

Lashing out doesn't bring back a warranty. It's an unfulfilled contract with a defunct business. I am only aware of one RV manufacturer (privately owned by a very consciencious gentleman) who put money aside for potential warranty claims. Any boat manufacturers?

I am too, but I have had many boaters tell me that SeaSport boats were extremely well built. That was supported by every SeaSport review I read.

I truly am sorry that Jeff and his brothers won't be building any more SeaSports. I had totally pegged the Pacific 3200 as my next power cat.

Well sure. None of us likes it, but that's the way it goes in these situations. It is the unfortunate reality when one company goes under and another picks up the pieces.

The thing to remember is that the current situation is not the Lindhout's fault. They too are victims of this totally screwed up economy. And until it gets better, we are all going to struggle - especially manufacturers of luxury products.

The Lindhouts made what was surely a painful decision to take the necessary steps to give themselves a fighting chance to survive until things get better. That's what any good business man has to do in order to stay in business - and pay his employees.

That is very true. Unless you have been a small business OWNER, you don't realize what a big deal it is to make payroll every payday.
