"Sea Shift" Super Sized

Congrat's on the new boat! Nice graphics on the name.

I am thinking very seriously about a new CD22 from EQ. Does Seahift have the hi top or standard?

It looks like you selected a Raymarine electronics setup. Would you mind discussing what and why you selected what you did? I have just started thinking about the electronics.

Does the camper canvas have screens for windows or do you rollup the sides and use a cabin door screen?

New toys are so much fun! I better decide what I want so I can get a boat before summer is come and gone.

Thanks,
Steve

Sea Shift is sure a beaut!

But with everything installed on the boat from the start what are you going to do on stormy days when you can't get out on her? Nothing left to install!

Hi Steve,
(Here are answers to your questions from above).

I chose the standard instead of the high top because I wanted a radar arch, and felt that by going high top, my arch might end up even higher. Since, I'm the tallest in our family at 6' 0", the standard is fine. (However, one consideration to make.....if you went with the standard and at some time decided to sell the boat, a much taller person might not be interested in the standard and you would then lose a potential buyer). (But, I don't believe anyone has had much problem ever finding a buyer for a C-Dory).
For electronics/navigational package, I decided to "do it all" initially, because all of your gauges and support systems can be planned out and placed in the best locations....rather than "piece mealing" it and then when you add something, you don't have the best location to place it. As far as "brand name" of electronic/navigational equipment, I relied on the expertise of Les. However, I'm sure that there are comparable systems that others may prefer. (I'm extremely happy with the system I have!)
Only one screen was added with my canvas work and that is the screen for the front center opening window. There are now screens on my "camperback" because living in Washington State, I don't find "bugs" to be that great of a problem. While in some other states obnoxious "bugs" may be a greater problem.
I encourage you to read through all of the "threads" on this site, and you will glean many "differences" of opinion on options as we all have different preferences for different personal reasons. What I'm sure we all agree on is that our "vessel of choice" is a C-Dory! :wink
