Say a little prayer

Dear Bob and Marie,
Please know we are thinking of you. Tootsie was such an important part of your lives that her passing will leave a big empty space. It has to be such a great feeling to know that the love and care that you gave her was the best that could be. You will surely get as many rewards in heaven as you got here giving her such good care.

Sincerely,
Brent and Dixie

Bob,
Sorry for your and Marie's loss. Thank you for your great description of her life. Although I never met your mother-in-law, it's always encouraging to hear stories of great teachers. I believe good teachers can have almost as much impact on our lives as our parents. You are in our thoughts.

Thank you all for both your public and private thoughts! I have shared these messages with Marie. Although her passing was difficult, it was our wish, and hers, that she spend her last days with us at home. This was also my mother's wish, when she passed on at age 97. Although caring at home, even with Hospice and other professional help, is demanding, it makes the loss a bit easier to accept.

Miss Priss had a heart attack on Friday, and we thought that we were going to loose her also (17 year old, papillion, pomarian mixture). She has pulled through and will be with us a bit longer. But it shows that animals know what is going on with life and death. Miss Priss had been Tootsie's dog for over 10 years, before she came to live with us. Tootsie had stayed 4 days a week in a retirement home, but came to be with us 3 days a week. Each time she returned, Miss Priss would spend all of her time with her. Miss Priss was extremely defensive of Tootsie during her last days. We give her lots of love and hugs too.

Take care--and again thanks to all!

Dr Bob, In this time of loss for you and Marie, Please know that our prayers will be for comfort and strength for you and your family. Tootsie sounds like an amazing person and I am sure you will carry fond memories for a long time. Her life has, I'm sure, touched many lives and brought much pleasure too.

You still have Miss Priss and she will need some extra attention for a while. A hug now and then and a used pillow-case off Tootsie's bed will help her feel close.

Our sincere sympathies,

Harvey & Deena

What a great tribute to Tootsie, a wonderful soul who touched so many lives.

Dr. Bob and Marie, our hearts and prayers go out to you as well.

Actually, Bob, Tootsie was the "natural" parent, doing all the normal things a parent should do and more. Better than Maria's biological parent.

Give Maria my congratulations on having such a wonderful mother. And God bless.

Having adopted a couple of kids and now seeing a granddaughter adopted, it's wonderful what the kids will do for you, and what you can, if you do it right, do for them. For both generations it's wonderful.

Bob and Marie,

Though we were not fortunate enough to have ever met Tootsie, we have met you guys, and you stack up as awesome wonderful people.

You are in our thoughts and prayers, and we very much look forward to our next encounter.

Since English was a 2nd language to me, I can now speak, read, and write in coherent sentences because of English teachers. The little voice in the back of my head reminds me to cross my T's and dot my I's because of teachers such as Tootsie.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Please accept our sincerest condolences.

It was an early evening in The Broughtons -- Drury Inlet July '07, and you were rafted up to us in your dinghy generously sharing some of your experiences. The topic turned to Marie's mother and the warm regard you held for her was evident. It was obvious that overseeing her care was considered an honor rather than a duty.

From what you have shared about Tootie she greatly deserved that honor. Our prayers are with you as you adjust to her physical absence, but may all the special memories that you, Marie and Robin share be a great comfort to you all.
Most sincerely,
Bob & Betsy Burks
