Requesting permission to come aboard

Whilst looking at a couple C-Dory 25s today, I came across the cutest little new 16 Cruiser. An hour later and she was mine! :)

I live in Cary, NC and plan to use the boat quite a bit on Jordan Lake but will also explore every wet spot within a day's drive.

I also have a Hunter 280 sailboat on Kerr Lake (NC/VA border) so I cannot be considered a "former sailor". Rather, I am now a more complete boater :D

I can hardly wait for the next cold snap so I can head out and laugh at the weather :)

tparrent, Welcome aboard. Great things come in small packages. I guess since I still have our Monty15 we are also more complete boaters.

You will have a great time here, and on the 16, enjoy,

Say, aren't you the Tom we've all been saying Hi to?

Permission is most enthusiastically granted!

Welcome ! One thing, keep the rag rig, you'll have a place to hang laundry ! Just kidding, but except for a nice spring or fall day the Hunter probably is soon out of the picture.

Hi Mike,

Yes, this is my buddy, Tom. 25... 16... well... what can I say? Welcome aboard, Tom. That 16 may be just the boat for easy funnin' around. I'm sure you'll have a great time with it.

To paraphrase the Will Rogers quote: Tom never met a boat he didn't buy. I'm happy someone didn't show him a bubble boat, or we may have lost him forever. No reason a guy shouldn't have a stink-potter and a rag-bagger. 8) You'll find other owners here who still have (and enjoy) sailboats.

Keep us posted, Tom. Glad to see you an "official Brat"! :thup

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Hope you don't mind, Tom...

Here's a look at his new 16:

Thought of a name, yet? Maybe after the kids... "Little Pirate" or "Spike"... either works! :D

Best wishes,
Jim

PS Tom, you can request an album from Tyboo Mike or DaNag Bill so we can all see how you're using your new boat.

Jim,

Good job, hooked another one :wink And a nice catch Tom. BTW, will that Sweet 16 hang in davits off the Hunter?

It's impressive that you went directly to the finest C-Dory model without stopping at one of those more cumbersome models. Well done.

Tom, Welcome aboard to the Right Coast C-Dory Gang.

With Kerr and Smith Mountain Lake at your beck and call you can run
all those "big boys' with their expensive big boats crazy on those lakes
with that classy '16.

Hopefully we will see you in the Tidewater area some time. I can't get to
you... no trailer.
