Hey alll… looking for ideas pics etc.. love to know what you have done for a stern/rear bench seat… photos or links or plans would be ideal…. Did someone learn something good or bad along the way they want to share… ? Thanks so much

My take. Lots of added storage, seating bench and sleeping bench if a pad is added; limited foot space. Boxes are a perfect fit - lockable Cosco (not Costco) boxes. Can't find the boxes on the web but I will check model number next time I'm at the boat if you want it; just let me know. Plywood cover needed as plastic tops are weak.

Is that attached to the hull or just floating? Great idea!

Floating but somewhat jammed between the two inwales. In some rough seas on Lake Superior the boxes would slide some but slid much more when trailering and having to do a sudden stop.

Not sure if you were asking me. Just floating however. The bench came in a variety of widths. I think I bought the 55" X 15" Fit with just a very little room on each side.
I liked that is was only 15" wide as the space is limited. The bench was heavy enough that I never had it move even in rough seas. That may have been helped by the fact that I had SeaDek on the floor so would not slide so easily.

Made a big difference in how I used the boat. From being a 2 person boat to a comfortable 4 person boat.
Also made getting into and out of the boat much easier as you can step on the bench from the dock then to the floor.
