Pocket Cruiser Magazine Article

Patrick,

Thank you for the offer! Let me repay the favor by offering you a taste of 'heavy metal' if you're up in the Pacific North West and want to experience the Sound from an aluminum boat. We can go for the $100 hamburger and beer (excluding the cost of the actual food!) as we compare notes.

Thanks again, you are most kind.

Happy Easter!

Hi Folks,

SOUNDINGS jest came out with an article on small pocket trailable cruisers including the CD 25 and the 25' Ranger. SOS.

Fred

ps. I think that the only reason people buy the CD 25 instead of the CD 22 is the enclosed head.

Plus seating for up to 4 at the table, self-bailing cockpit, and just more living space for more than 2 people on board. That about sums up my reasons.

The enclosed head was a consideration, but certainly not the only difference. We've had enclosed heads and no heads on previous boats. The extra beam and resulting additional interior volume was the deciding factor for us. Just like people want different size houses, RVs, cars, etc, etc. We feel we have a boat that is better suited for the way we travel, and the head is an additional feature.

Truly, the boats are similar. But the additional length and beam certainly make a difference in the way the boats feel on the water. We knew we were going to spend extended time onboard, and wanted the additional storage and elbow room.

I don't understand the "$30k" head argument. Most people wouldn't think about buying or building a house without a bathroom... but you could sure do a cabin with an outhouse. Good luck convincing a significant other to live in it. Yes, I know, some do; but that is the exception, not the rule. The way I see it, the problem isn't with a porta-potty - it's more of what a particular couple's comfort level requires.

The best thing about either of these boats is the utility and function. And the smart buying decision is to get what works for your situation. If you like (and USE) what you bought, you made the right decision.

My 2 pesos.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Another perfict example how good that info is . that westerbeke ( or however the hell you spell it ) on the 25 tug must haul ass. guess they left the 21 out again because of all the articles clogging up our favorite raggs each month. wish they would test something elese besides the ranger 21 EC , i'm getting tired of reading about it every where.

IT-SEA-BIT-C, Most of us on this site are more than likely pretty much tired of hearing your abbreviated four letter responses on other threads on this site. Change your tune and get with what this site is about. Boating, and being nice.
Did I mention, BE NICE?

Dave,

Thank you for your post. I just went into the IT C BIT C profile to see what was going on, and was astounded by the vehemence that was there. Personally, I would prefer that this person never posts again.
