Picture Posting Help Needed

In posting pictures for the Delta 2010 trip, I had some problems that I can't figure out. I run Windows 7 and use Picasa (a free Google program) for organizing and labeling my photos. I then create a web album and would like to post the pictures in the web album right on the the C-brat site just as they are in my web album.

It seems that I can only post one picture at a time, the picture order changes and all picture comments are deleted.

There must be an easier way than what I'm doing? Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help!

Can't really help with your question. I don't think there is any way to directly upload a Picasa album to a C-Brat album. You can however upload more than one picture at a time, and it is easy to reorder the pictures (Album actions combo box) and edit the text for each one (Photo actions combo box). It appears you will just have to duplicate your efforts a bit.

Hi Kent,

Just put your pictures individually in a folder on your hard disk. Then open the Delta album and click on "add pictures". You should have an option to add multiple pictures. When I open it, mine defaults to 5. You can add 1, 2 or up to 5 on that screen. Then browse to find and select your pictures (one at a time to select).

That's the only way I've ever added pictures to this site, and it seems to work very well and fairly quickly. Oh, and make sure your pictures aren't too high resolution otherwise the site will have to reduce them further before loading, a little reduction is OK. I don't know the exact numbers of what it likes, but I'd start somewhere around 1000x1500 pixels (not right numbers).

Let us know if this works for you.

You don't have to limit the posting to 5 pictures at a time. I often up as many as 12 to 15. But if you do this, the size of the photos need to be fairly small. I don't see this as a problem, since people are not looking at a high resolution. When I take photos for specific C Dory issues, I make them as JPEG and often 640 x 480.

Yes, I shoot high res then crop and adjust brightness or whatever, but for C-Dory albums always resize to 640 x 480 before uploading. Can't see much difference on a web page...

640x480 is the intermediate size shown when clicking on a thumbnail. Clicking again takes you to 800x600, assuming the image was at least that big when uploaded.

I resize everything to 800 max in either dimension prior to uploading.

:D Thanks for your help! I think I am finally ready to post pictures on a timely basis. Sorry for the slow posting. Think we got it right this time!
