My recent boat insurance policy through Progressive Insurance just came up for renewal. One of the pages in the policy states the following.....

"On September 15, 2010, we started automatically including free Pet Injury coverage with your Comprehensive and Collision Coverage.
With Pet Injury coverage, we'll pay up to $1,000 toward veterinary bills if your dog or cat is injured in a covered boat accident. If your pet dies as a result of injuries sustained in a covered accident, we'll provide a $1,000 death benefit.
Protect your pets now and every time you renew with our free Pet Injury coverage. And get peace of mind knowing your dog and cat are covered while you're enjoyng the water together."

Too bad I don't purr.... ...Oh wait, I'm already covered somewhere else in the policy.

My guess is that they don't have many pet injuries--at least that require vet service. We have boated with dogs for over 35 years--and never had a probelm--requiring vet care. That doesn't mean that I didn't sew up a cut paw off when our lab stepped on a broken beer bottle in the surf....but there was no vet nearby...

Read the fine print. It's double indemnity if your pet is an elephant and he dies on a Thursday.

Getting ready for our trip, and had both dogs in for a checkup and meds-$735. I don't spend that much on me.

if i could get $1000 out of stupid and worthless he just might have a mishap on the boat. :wink :dog

HEY NOW!!!!

We don't HAVE TWO pets, so just who are you calling stupid and who are you calling worthless.

i might just be the sole owner of a 27 C-dory here soon :wink

Better get that face mask on, Tom!!!

At least Tom said "he" and not "they".

I'm sure he meant the pooch, didn't you Tom? :cry
