Our trip down to Southport was really nice. We were in the water by 3:00p.m. . Larry put the boat in at the wildlife ramp and I drove it to the Marina by myself. I was so nervous. LOL I made it to the marina without adding more holes or water. LOL We settled in at Southport then took a nice walk to see the sites. The Southport Marina is nice and will be really nice once it's finished. Sunday morning we took off to Myrtle Beach on the ICW. It was only a four hour trip and we saw two C-Dory's on our way. One was an old "hunky dory" I'm guessing..the other was Beth and William Tucker's boat. We saw wild goats on some small islands and a gator too. Once we to got Myrtle Beach we docked at Barefoot landing. We were hungry so we took off walking to find lunch. We ate at a nice little cafe where they encourage folks to write on the walls ! LOL Then we went shopping around Barefoot landing. I found a few Christmas gifts and a few things for the boat. They have a really big pool at the resort so we took a nice cool swim Sunday evening.
Monday we took at taxi to Broadway on the Beach. We checked out the shops and the movies. We were going to see a IMax movie but they didn't have anything good showing. Monday night they had fireworks over barefoot landing. We just looked out over the back of the boat to see them. It was so nice ! After the fireworks we were sitting and reading on the boat when I heard a noise. Sounded like a rock hitting the boat. The second time I heard it I got dressed and went outside. Sure enough there was a rock. I looked up and four boys were up on the balcony throwing rocks ! Larry went after them and they ran (of course ) . He went into the restaurant and talked to them. Turns out the families were there having a late supper. So Larry talked to them . In the mean time the kids came back and admitted to throwing the rocks. They chipped the v-berth window. One of the ladies at the supper was a condo owner so she offered to take care of the damage. The others there were all her guest at the Resort. Now we are waiting for the money to fix the boat window. In the mean time...we are trying to decide where to go next. I'm kinda of leary of condo/resort now... .

Dragonfly ,Drag on fly,, I still wished we could have got hooked up...Dinner would have been on us plus we would have brought you a truck or car to make use of.. Also if you saw the goats on the island in front of our house,my wife feeds those goats about twice a week..She kayaks across the waterway with 150 pounds of corn each trip....It is 40 goats on that island...Sorry to hear about your rocks ...We wish we could make your gathering but we have to work....My wife told me you all stopped on the way back up the waterway and the wind was blowing hard.....Keep your life jacket on ! Beth and William tucker

Sorry to hear about the rock throwing. I had heard of this down that way in the past along the ICW--also there have been problems dropping rocks off bridges along the waterways in some parts.

Those windows are very expensive--you probably can get an auto parts place to replace the glass--but I think that the price of a new window would shock the parent--and you may want to get the law involved.

Hi,
Sounds like yall had a good trip down there. We would like to take our boat to M. Beach and go down the ICW to George town. then from M. Beach go up the ICW where you all went. I had a nephew that did that on a large C-Doo a few weeks a go. He said he and his son of 4yrs had a great time. Jim
