OK Trying to get CD logo decals

Bill, Don, Spencer and all on post;
Installed mine tonight as well and I am just tickled! :P They are way too high quality to refer to as decals, we should refer to them as raised lettering! I used a blow dryer and razor blade to remove, then acetone to clean up remanent glue, worked wonderful.

Hey Frog:
They look great. Those are the ones I got too.
I want to thank Dave and C Dory for all their help.
Bill

Wow, those really look nice. :thup High class, and durable. :thup Still have not heard from custom crafters, but with this response from the factory, may Cassie got through to someone there.

Dave from CD called me today. He was responding the the voice message I left him a couple of weeks ago. I told him I had already talked to him and got my decals yesterday.
Maybe I was too impatient?
Oh, I thanked him and told how great they looked.
He indicated that he had contemplated charging - after all 4.60 for postage and whatever the cost of the decal is - but came to the same conclusion we all did. Its all good will and advertising for C-Dory and he thought that was worth it if others knew what my boat was.

I found the web site for Craft Originators and their site indicates they will take orders "from one to one million" and has a page for free quotes, but not being much of a photoshop/publisher, it's all greek to me.

I'm so impressed by the logo I'd love to get a quote for my boat name in the same raised (dome?) (vinyl overlay?) style, black over the gold. If any of you Factory nearby guys do find out what the ordering details were on the C-Dory logo, I think the only extra information needed would be the font and letter sizes to get a quote, so please don't be shy . . . post the details!!!! Fortunately, like a number of Brats, I have a hobby business license I can use if pressed.

Thanks

Don

I have talked to the Craft Originators a couple of times, 2nd call, Cassie who I talked to first, is gone on vacation now, and I talked to Laura and she said she would pick up where Cassie left off. Plus now I will ask her for he font, letter size and whatever needed to order a boat name in a matching "decal".

Well I had about given up on Craft Originators, and then I got a call today from Cassie there. She is back from vacation, and has contacted C-Dory Marine (Brett) for some information: 1. If they want Craft Originators to retail the C-Dory logos; 2. If C-Dory wants to place a "short order" and then handle the retail themselves, or 3. Add a guesstimated additional to their standard projected run to accommodate the C-Brats who want to update, or replace the logo they have now, or want to add them to other devices, Like the pickup window, the shop tool box, the office bathroom mirror, or the front door etc (just some ideas to creative juices going.)

Cassie did tell me she would let me know when she hears form and what she hears from C-Dory, and also that she has a sales rep that calls on teh C-Dory Marine group about monthly and she would copy him into what is going on and have him personally put some word into the C-Dory place that there are folks who are deffinatley looking for new logo decals.

The price will obviously be less as the size of the run increases. Typical run is between 50 and 200, so if we want any it would be best to get them large groups at a time. Don't give up hope. There may be a logo out there somewhere yet.

I got so excited from this thread that I scraped the old logo's off and prepped, assuming it was just a matter of time.

Since then I've e-mailed Customer Service at C-dory twice more with ATTN: DAVE in the header. I don't mind paying, but I think I'm going to have to try talking to a real person as I have never had any type of reply from their black hole customer service link after at least a half dozen attempts. I wonder why they have that link, it's much worse than nothing at all as far as p/r goes.

You can certainly count me in if you are placing an order. In the meantime, I'm tempted to add a Bayliner logo.

If these are becoming so difficult to get from the factory, I would also be interested some to just to have on hand. It seems that I have to replace mine ocassionally because of the gas overflow taking the logo off.

Thanks,
Rollie

I too would be interested in a set.

I'm really dissapointed to hear how much trouble it is to contact the factory. I seriously doubt they are that busy with the poor economy and all.

Just got off phone with Cassie, and they are no longer making decals ,and are out of old stock , :thdown any new contacts alive for decals appreciated

Hi Folks,

We are working on our boat this summer and our decals are in pretty poor shape on our 2003 boat. We would be willing to place an order if possible. We will also need to have our boat name 'C-renity' added to the boat, but I suppose that is a separate issue from the boat logo. I should be getting our boat out of the Honda dealer later this week.

Advise on properly removing the remnants of the original C-Dory logo and boat name would be appreciated.

A heat gun or a hair dryer and a plastic or nylon puddy knife will get the old decal off. ( keep the heat moving )

I went to a sign shop and had my boat name and the C-Dory decal made.
I just copied some pictures from different albums on here. and they made the C-Dory decal up.

I recently purchased new C-Dory logos for my boat from the builder in Ferndale, Washington. They were very pleasant and helpful to work with. The decals are a "double" design with a gold background and then the dark top layer. They were $20 per set (i.e. one set port, one set starboard).

As Bill K says, but then I use " Goof Off" to remove any residual adhesive. If you get the vinyl too hot, it will allow the vinyl to stretch or even tear. We use one of the spreaders which we used for applying fairing compound--a flexible, fairly soft yellow plastic about 3" x 4" by 3M or 2 1/2" wide by West Marine.

Bill & Bob,

Thanks for the advise. Plastic putty knife-some limited heat and goof-off. I'll add that to my 'note-book' of planned improvements! I have a few projects I need to complete once my boat comes back from the shop-then I plan to get the boat in the water-finally!!
Regards,
Jack Howell
