Ok, so I bought a C Dory today subject to inspection and sea trial. I will post pictures and tell you all about it, a week today, if all goes well.

Once home the boat name will be: C-HAWK

Yes I can. I live in Victoria but maybe that was your joke and it was to subtle for me. Looking forward to the Victoria rendezvous.

Mind you I still have to buy it. I will be traveling this week to go put it though the paces. If all checks out (I am sure it will) I will have it back here the end of next week.

Welcome. There are a few of us on the big rock and hopefully you will be another. A better group of people with the same interest and fun is hard to find., Hope it all works out and the rest is history
Cheers
Terry

Thanks Terry looking forward to meeting you.

BTW I am a member of the Royal Victoria Yacht Club so maybe we can do some gatherings there sometime in the future.

I have been a sailor all my life. Raced sailboats in these waters for years but have moved on to being a Stink Potter. LOL.

Congratulations--I'll bet that boat is just coming across the Straits.

Great to have a member of RVYC aboard! A C dory is just an outboard powered non sailboat--not a stink pot……

May get to meet you this summer as we visit your home town.

Thanks Bob a visit to Victoria from Florida is quite the trip. If you are here and it is not when I am off on my Harley I will see you and we can drink some wine. :D

Welcome aboard .... always nice to have around another person that has the same interests / hobbies , I too am into boats and motorcycles . Have a '03 RoadKing with 80,000 plus miles and a '05 Sportster with very few miles . I am thinking that you may have bought or are buying the Bro In Laws boat ...... DA NAG . If so that's great , it'll match your Harley .

Great thanks Larry I will be over to flirt with your wife Liz soon. She might like my 2011 fully loaded Electra Glide Ultra Limited LOL. Hope to see you this summer. I might take a quick trip across the pond.

Ah yes...it was a feeble attempt at a joke, Victoria is one of our favorite places and your post made clear that you are from there. I'll have to remember to carefully inspect any attempts at humor and expunge carefully.

No No all is cool. It really is my limited abilities. I am looking forward to meeting you this summer if the Victoria thing happens.

This is killing me I am so excited like a little kid waiting for Christmas and worst thing is I am 63.

Next week cant get her fast enough so I can get moving to go give the boat the walk through.

I am having to fit the whole process around a holiday here on the 1st and a holiday there on the 4th.

Welcome, Rainger! You missed a great BC C-Brat Get-Together a week or two ago, we gathered at Pender Harbour, and then about 10 boats went up to Princess Louisa Inlet! IF you are buying Da Nag, you chose wisely. If not, time will tell!

I need to clear up confusion for Da Nag. I bought a great boat which I think has almost as much to offer as Da Nag but is not Da Nag. The comparisons will be subjective. And I think you will find both boats are very comparable. (this is not a c brats boat)

Of course it cant be as good as Da Nag it is not RED. The boat I bought is a 2006. Da Nag is a 2004.

Yes I looked seriously at Da Nag but I was not fast enough to purchase it however sometimes fate brings things around another way to people and the boat I have made my offer on makes me sooo happy and has almost everything Da nag had and in some ways to me more.

But thankfully it is not RED ROFL.

Congratulations on your possible new vessel. FYI....with your choice of vessel name, there will then be two C-Dory's named C-Hawk. The other C-Hawk is a 22' home ported in California owned by a die hard Seahawks Fan who used to live in Washington State. Ironically, his vessel is also Grey with twin Hondas.
I'm thinking the both of you have similar tastes.

Yer gonna fit right in here.

But man...now I'm thinking I might have to show up at Victoria on my Triumph. You and your new hippy friends (Lizarry, my sis and bro-in-law) need somebody present with a little class to offset those hogs. 8)

Ouch - did I just say that? Shots across the bow!

Not to hijack rainger's welcome thread too terribly, but assuming things work out with inspection and sea trial tomorrow - Da Nag is staying local to me. Deal was struck with a great guy and his wife in Sequim.

Welcome to the nuthouse, rainger - look forward to meeting you.
