:sad, To ALL Members who knew my daddy, Marvin Murphy. Sadly he passed on 7/15/2011. He LOVED his CDory friends & I wanted to ask anyone who knew him or conversed with him to PLEASE contact me.

I'm sorry to hear that. While I didn't know Marvin personally, he was a good contributor to the site especially when it came to electrical matters. He will be missed. My thoughts are with you and the family.

Thank you so very much for your kind thoughts. Yes, daddy was a Proud Union Electrician for 35 years. He sure knew his electrical trade & Iv sure been needin those skills of his for my 1965' Bonneville electrical issues. I miss him dearly and I think I ALWAYS will.

I am so sorry to hear that news. We are honored to have had him with us and he will be missed for sure. Thank you for sharing this with his friends.

We will continue to count Marvin as part of this group and his pictures, message posts, and membership profile will stay with us unchanged if that is acceptable to you.

Thank you again for letting us know. Best of everything to you and your family.

I agree with Roger

Please accept my condolences

I always enjoyed and valued your Dad's postings

Marvin's passing was a very sad event for me. We often wrote each other by private message, sharing our Navy experiences and our similar political views. He fought the good fight right up to his last difficult breath. You should be very proud of your father.

Marvin and I went through Aviation Electrician's Mate schooling in Jacksonville at the same time. We both thought we remembered the other, and because Marv was Navy, and I was a Marine, a bit of good natured kidding took place. We had many a chat via private message. I was sorry to learn of his passing, he was a great guy.

I did not know Marvin personally, but have a deep sense of loss for a fellow graduate of the AE school at NAS JAX. He clearly was taken too soon. RIP.

I never met Marvin, but like so many others here, I remember the knowledge he shared with us and the love of our boats. Remember the fun times and try to keep your chin up.

Marie and I send our condolences to your family. Marvin was a highly respected member of this community. He will be missed here, as I know he will by you. His posts are a testimony to a life well lived.

Toby and I met your Dad a few years back when we did a St. John's River Mini Loop. Had communicated with him before the trip and as Luck would have it, when we came by his house, we saw the C-Dory hanging in the rack and your Dad sitting on the dock. Threw him a line and we had a nice 20 minute chat with him. He was in a pair of checked pants (PJ's I think) and had recently had a medical procedure as I remember. I had read his postings over the years was glad to have a chance to meet him. He will be missed! Good picture of him on the dock in our Album under St. John's River Mini Loop.

My condolences to your family, please. Though I did not know your Dad, I do remember how helpful he was on the site and he will be missed. This is more than just a internet site. It is family. Thanks for your message, and for sharing.
