Nice video with a C-Dory

Hi Merv,

Not a lot of views of the CD-22, but that Scamp looks interesting. I don't get the whole blunt bow design, though; to me, it looks like they didn't finish it.

Best wishes,
Jim

Hi Jim.

Just think how cold that water was. I know you need cheering up today, what with being forced to wear ALL your clothes and watch movies etc etc. :-)

Have to say he really tried hard to capsize that thing. I could do it much quicker. Don't ask.

Our yacht club races Pelicans which look very much like that but with no cabin, and they do it in the winter.
We have a nice big rescue boat

Great boat handling on the part of the sailboat. He knows what he's doing. The offset bilge keel is interesting, looks as if he has two of them? There's even a reef in the sail, that' a lot of wind for a little boat! Brings back memories when our kids used to holler "We're gonna die"

I think that was skiptowns98033 Dan and Lorie in Coronet Bay. Only 8 posts, they haven't been around for awhile unless the boat has different owners now or that was an old video.

That was quite a wind and speaks well for not having too powerful of a sail. The guy had to work really hard to get the little ting to go over. Pulling it back up looked like a cakewalk as well.

That is pretty cool video of the Scamp. It was taken in Port Townsend Bay. The C-Dory is "Plan-C", the owner was Dave McW, who introduced me to Mystery Bay State Park about 6 years or so ago. He has become an avid rower and was the go between responsible for getting the C-Dory's involved in the safety boat project for the National Rowing championship races her about 5 years ago.

The Scamp is a pretty incredible little craft. I have seen several in our area, probably due in part to the Port Townsend Wooden Boat School participation in group builds. They are very seaworthy, and surprisingly stable and yet nimble.
