Nicely done. You did good work on your 16 and the same craftsmanship shows here. She looks like a blank canvas, with little modifications done previously, which makes it a really great boat to put your touches on.

Love Sequim bay--we had our Cal 46 there for 4 winters, and launched all of our C Dory adventures out of Sequim (We have close friends there.
 
Thank you for the kind words, Bob. I did have a fairly clean slate to work with. Sequim Bay was a great place for our first night on the boat. We are lucky to live in such a beautiful area with easy access to many adventures.
The Permatrim goes on tonight. I’m really looking forward to seeing how much it helps with our stern lift/bow lower.
This boat does not have a spare prop, so I contacted Ken at Prop Gods and he has given me a recommendation for a 4-blade prop by Powertech. I will update after I get a chance to test it. Right now I’m running the factory aluminum 3- blade 17 pitch that was on the boat when we purchased it. Lightly loaded we could only get to 5500 RPM.
 
Congratulations on your new purchase. We are sitting in Anacortes as a write this. Waiting for Master Marine doing some maintenance on our engines. Should be launching in a day or two heading for Friday Harbor.

Ken, we were only getting about 5700 rpms when new and lightly loaded with our aluminum 3 blade propeller. We were told that the boat was properly propped when we bought it. We always run our boat heavily loaded and so I went with the same prop type but 2 inches smaller. Now we can hit that upper rpm range, not lug the motor and keep the old prop on the boat ready for emergency use. Consider having a complete propeller hub kit and tools to make a change if needed to while on the water.
 
Thanks for letting me know the experience you had with yours when new. I think that most Yamaha's in the 90-115 HP range just get 17" pitch props put on at the dealers. I guess it's a starting point. I plan on keeping it as a spare, along with the nut, thrust washer and the rest.
One thing I found interesting with this boat- the motor is mounted with the anti-ventilation plate just about perfectly flush with the bottom using a straight edge when trimmed parallel with the bottom. It seems that most all that I have seen and read about on here have the motors mounted quite a bit lower than that. I know that the 16' Angler that I had previously had the motor mounted over 1.5" too low.
 
You should be OK with the motor flush, unless you are experiencing blow out on turns. 15 or 16 inches in pitch would probably be best, but there are many other considerations in the prop structure. The Power Techs 4 blades are definitely stern lifting. I have used them on my Power Cats. -

Lightly loaded, and motor trimmed all of the way down, I couldn't get the bow to drop to any significance. The hull spray was coming off just behind the helm seat with the motor tucked all the way. This boat does not have trim tabs, either.
I am going to add the Permatrim that I've had for weeks, first. Then add the 4 blade prop. I wanted to get a baseline run before adding anything.
I will definitely give progress reports.
Ken at Prop Gods suggested the SCD4 in 14" pitch. That's what I ordered, and let's hope that his winning streak holds...

I believe that all of our boats (except the Tom Cat, are helped with both trim tabs and a Permatrim.
