Hey there. I'm a C-Dory wannabe in the market for a C-Dory 22 and am interested in finding other owners in the Jacksonville, FL area...or any C-Dory owners who plan to cruise the St. John's River and need a place to tie up for a night. We have a dock on the St. John's just south of Jax on Bull's Bay.

Welcome, Don Z. Poke around a bit, I am pretty sure there are a couple of other Floridians (Floridites?) on the site. Most people post location in their profiles, which are to the left of the messages in the forums.

Welcome Don Z! We're down in Punta Gorda 2 hours south of Tampa. I intend to get a St.John's trip in from Sanford up to Jax and down to New Smyrna Beach next year probably late summer since I'm commited to a week in the Dry Tortugas first week of June. We might take you up on the dock offer depending wether the kids are with us or not. There are other owners in N. Ft.Myers,Labelle and Michael on the Clara Mae cruises past you on his way from Charleston to Tampa twice a year I think. Enjoy the site, it's full of great info and even greater folks!

There are two of us on La Paz Street in Pensacola FL who own C Dories.
Since there is a dealer in Three Rivers, I suspect that there are a quite a few down South.

That's amazing! Is there a connection as to why you both own Dories? Sounds like we could have a "get together" so we can all meet and Don Z would have the perfect opportunity to check out the boats. I'm no organizer but I due plan on camping at Caladesi State Park in Febuary. Never been there but I hear it's a perfect port for smaller boats and since access is by ferry it tends to keep the crowds down. You can find it just north of Tampa near "Honeymoon Island". I can be reached if anyone is interested via this forum or my info is in the memberlist...

Thanks a lot for all the responses. I am currently out in San Francisco visiting my son. Today we were fortunate enough to see the old Da Nag (a 19' Angler) in Sausalito and the Salty Dog (a 22' Cruiser) in Sausalito. I think I'm now sold on getting a C-Dory!

I'll be driving back to Jax (getting back after the 1st on Jan) and will check in again soon.

Thanks again.

Z

We are in Fort Myers, so anytime anyone gets close, we are ready and willing to meet up and play boats!!!!

Hey there Ron!
Being just up the road in Punta Gorda we'll head down your way sometime if you can tell us where in Ft.Myers you are. Looking at the photos we're guessing somewhere off the Caloosahatchee; maybe the Orange River area or maybe a little more east? Anyway, we are headed up to Caladesi State Park over Presidents Day weekend so would consider hooking up some time in early March. Maybe some others might be interested as well and it could be the first ever "Other West Coast" get-together. At the very least we could meet somewhere near where Malacha Pass hits the intercoastal warterway. That would be a "light" day for us. Let us know what you think...

Don- is that invitation still good,I have just purchased a 1991 16' c-dory cruiser in Seattle, that I will be taking to my 2nd home in Melbourne Beach, Fla. after cruising northern waterways this summer. I plan to cruise the intercoastal from Ga. to Palm Beach this Fall. Thanks- Rich

Will be on the Ohio or Erie canal, depending on weather, month of September...then at home on the St. Johns month of October...then the Keys in November. Offer open if this fits your time frame. Call me at 904-612-2983.
