Put a few fish in there, leave it in that position and catch all the seagulls you can eat.

After spending the summer in Washington State, I thought something different: I think the "pot puller" is the guy who bags your purchases in the legal recreational marijuana shops. Maybe I'm off on that? :wink:
When doing the safety talk all summer, I had to change the "no alcohol or tobacco products..." to "no smoking of anything..."
Not being a fishy kinda guy, what difference does it make which side it's on?

I suck at hitting the right spot anyway, so I'll have just as much chance flying blind. The manufacturer wants it on the starboard side so the davit post is between the guy using the thing and the power driven sheave that does the rope pulling. Personally, I ain't scared of the pulley and fiddling with it on the trailer it looks safer to be able to see the sheave completely.
I'll let you know in a week or so how it works.
Never tried any of that other pot stuff. But I am young yet, it is legal, and I don't have a job any more where they do random screens so maybe one of these days. Not likely though.
The electric pot puller is fantastic. Excellent. Even an old guy can do it.
I put in a foot switch for it before I ever tried it and am very glad I did. The sheave grips the rope enough to continue lifting unless the rope is almost completely raised off of it. It doesn't pause simply by letting up the hand tension. The foot switch is almost fool proof (which is a really neat and needed feature for me personally!). I would recommend the foot switch to anyone - even the young guys who don't need the power puller in the first place. The switch I got is intended for use with a trolling motor.
Yes yes yes. I like it a lot. Just lay the line in it, step on the switch to bring the pot up from the bottom, tap the switch to jog it up almost to the pulley, pull the pin that holds the davit still, and swing the pot full of tasty crustaceans into the boat.
