New Photo Game

The experiences on this forum are wide-ranging. Our boats take us to all kinds of interesting places, and we're able to share that with our C-Brat brothers and sisters. How 'bout a photo game to show some of those places?

The rules are simple:
1. Has to be something YOU photographed (no snagging something off the internet).
2. Has to be in the US or Canada.
3. Has to have some kind of identifying feature.
4. When you guess correctly, you have to post the next photo to keep the game going.
5. Optional - you may include a hint.

Here's the first...

Best wishes,
Jim B.

So,,,,,, while I was looking something else up, I found Jim's post that started this thread, and a really fun game --- 10,000 view in only half of the thread. So, since I did win one shot, and had to pass up my posting a pix to another Brat, I thought I would do a little resurrecting.

This rules are the same. Something you photographed, from where you have been in your boat, and it needs to have a recognizable landmark. There was some confusion along the way because some folks were just posting but not doing it in turn. To post a photo, you must get the correct answer, determined by the photo poster and must be recognized by such before a new photo is posted. Just maybe this should have been restarted back in March 2020 to give us poor folks who have been sequestering due to Covid19 something to do: 1. Learn how to post pix from our albums, 2. Learn how to get our photos into our albums, 3. Encourage us to (newbies and all), to join in and see the world -- from a C-Dory view.

Here is the first (re-start) photo.

Hint: It is north of the 48 line, but not North to Alaska.

Phil, Yes sir, You are the new winner. The prize is that you now get to post one of your photos, and watch for and announce the next winner. Thanks for playing. Now, pass it on.

Alright, well I've never been there personally but since it's an iconic location and nobody else has stepped up yet, I offer my guess of Catalina Island, Isthmus Cove.

Mike (et al) You do not have to have been there on your boat to guess, just that when you win, your photo has to be from somewhere you have been with your boat. Hope you are right.

Hey Mike, Thanks for posting. I was about to ask for a new volunteer, so glad you got it in. I know I have seen that one, and it was in the fog too, but will have to scratch my head for a bit to come up with the name.

OK Mike, I scratched the itch ---> Chrome Lighthouse, southern BC coast near Hornby Island, just off the southern tip of Denman Island.

Just around the corner to the north is a ferry to Denman Island, that is the longest cable ferry in the world, and the important thing to know there is that when the ferry is running (two things) there is a red warning light facing N&S on the shorelines, and also, that cable is very near the surface, 18" to 5 feet, SO Pay Attention to those lights. I have talked to that ferry, asking for ET to sailing, to know if I had time to get past or not. Can't remember if it was on VHF 13 or 16, but they were very cordial and profesioanl.

Thanks Harvey. You are right Brock, that is easy.

It is Malibu rapids, as you exit Princess Louisa Inlet.

Also it is Malibu Club, a Young Life Camp that my wife attended many years ago. The largest building in this picture is the dining hall. The camp staff are very friendly and gave us a tour last October. We even got to see the cabin/room that she stayed in all those years ago.

Gary, You are right. So now it is your turn to post a new picture. Thanks for playing. Cool that your wife attended there. I have been by several times but have never stopped for the tour. Will do that next time I am up there.

Nice post, Gary. And Harvey, now that you mention it, maybe we should plan a C-Cruise to Princess Louisa next year. Provided they'll open the gate.
