Ahoy hoy!
My wife and I just had an offer accepted on the C-Dory 25 named VEGA, i see the original listing from 2022 on here (http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.php?t= ... 21f2aa3f78).
Whoever purchased then has decided to move up to a bigger boat, and listed VEGA here: https://www.yachtworld.com/yacht/2008-c ... r-9174473/
Pending a survey (one had never been done before), and sea trial we are very excited to close the purchase on VEGA, and we are already planning our summer cruising and fishing.

I did some searches on here trying to find info on the ideal cruising speed of twin Honda 90s on a C25, i suppose adding a flow meter is the best way, as it seems dependent on load / bottom / etc.

Anyways, will keep this thread updated with our hopeful purchase and maiden voyage experience.
Any recommendations / advice welcome :)

Congratulations and welcome aboard. There probably be some minor things--and some issues, that will be missed by the surveyor, because he does not understand these boats. None of these would be fatal.

I really love that we get to see our boats go from one owner to new owners and continue the journey they bring to our families. My boat had an amazing owner and (life) then I got to take it from there and continue with my kids growing up in it. I haven't documented my journey as much as I should to share, but just knowing these boats get passed to people who continue to take care of them and enjoy them is better than anything I see in this world today. I am so appreciative of discovering C-Dory and what it has brought to my family. Enjoy your "New to You" C-Dory!

Kartsten- 100%, amazing community and forums. Excited to join it :)
Floyd & Eiko - That's amazing! Vega definitely looks well loved. Thx for sharing.
Happy Valentines Day! The survey is going great so far (knock on wood, we have the sea trial in 30 mins). Have a few small things that need looking into.
Will post updates shortly :)

Update: The Sea Trial was interesting. The boat as twin 90hp Hondas (~470 hours). The engines cold started just fine and idled around the marina just fine. As we were exiting the marina the starboard engine suddenly shutoff.
Possibly related, it looks like the batteries need to be replaced along with most the fuel lines.
The seller is going to have the engine checked by a mechanic, and replace fuel lines within the next week or so. Hopefully we can get everything ship-shape and close before mid March.
