New Owner Halcyon

I drove to Tacoma to pick up Halcyon and give her a new home in the Midwest. I am now officially comfortable trailering the boat after 1800 miles. I slept in Halcyon two nights on way back, staying dry in the rain and warm in my down sleeping bag. 31 degrees one night in Wyoming.

I went out for my first solo cruise, just a couple of hours on Father's Day with my 25 year old son, Paul. It was great to be out and learn a bit about Halcyon. I appreciate this boat's history and have been in touch with Bill and El for the last six or seven years. I am proud to give her a new home.

I am signed up for Mississippi River get together in September and am considering the Carolina gathering. Reducing my work hours in July and hoping to spend more time getting out and exploring with Halcyon. I have much to learn and am eager to do so. This seems like a great group.

Congrats on the new boat. Good to see it go to someone who knows and understands and respects the history and I am sure will continue to enjoy and share her new adventures. :thup

Congratulations on the new boat. Halcyon should be quite comfortable in the Mississippi waters. She was at the 2009 Mississippi gathering in Gutenberg with Bill and El. See you in Dubuque in September!

Welcome! Its nice to see that piece of C-Brat/C-Dory history on the water again. We hope you enjoy many hours of pleasure aboard her.

I'm starting to think we could (have had) a C-Brat get-together for new-Brat, criss-crossing, cross-country trailerers :D I'm on my way from Florida to Washington at the moment. We could almost have crossed paths :thup

Here's to many wonderful adventures for you and your new C-Dory :beer

Welcome,
We would love to have you come to the NC gathering. I can tell you that you and your famous boat would be welcomed with open arms. If there is anything I can do to help you make your trip plans ( if you do decide to join us) please let me know.

Welcome aboard, and congratulations on the "new" boat. May you have many comfortable voyages--and rarely have to use that down sleeping bag!

Come on down South for the Apalachicola gathering (I assume that we will have one again--if not we will host the Gulf Coast in Pensacola) in Oct.

thank you for all the kind thoughts and words...I certainly will reach out to you C-brats for help with ideas about visiting various parts of the country. Work still owns a piece of me, but I am thinking of all the places I need to visit.

Congrats. You bought a great boat from some great people. That boat has a few stories to tell you and I'm sure you'll give it many more to tell in the future.

Congratulations on your choice of water craft. And that ones is pretty well experienced. You will have a good time and lots to enjoy on the water and with the C-Brats. Hope to get to hear of your travels and some time get to cross wakes. It's a good place -- on the water and here with the "family".

Nice to see the welcome for Vince by the C-Brats. We have had email conversations with Vince about cruising long before any thoughts of sharing Halcyon. His love of the natural world and the outdoors will make a natural mix with cruising a C-Dory. We are happy that he has chosen Halcyon for his companion.
