bigkahuna-
I am 6' 4" and have made a few modifications to fit more comfortably in our 22 Cruiser. I would have loved to find a high top model, but those are newer and seemed rare in California for the year that I was looking.
I usually hunch over while I am driving to see out the windows, so I recently lowered the helm seat a few inches. My wife is only 5'7 and she likes the view better from the lower seat. I have slept in the berth and on the cabin floor on an inflatable air mattress about 60 nights over the last year. We have two small kids, so I can not figure out if it is just the tight quarters or one of them squirming at night that makes things less than comfortable. I am having the cushions reupholstered in the berth and adding 1.5" of memory foam to the top of the pads.
We have talked about removing the divider between the cabin and berth and likely might do so in the future. For now it makes it easy to close up that area at night and put the kids to sleep in the "bedroom."
We have our boat in Huntington Harbor. If you ever want to take a look, let me know. We are on the boat nearly every weekend.
