New Marinaut boat owner

As a new Marinaut boat owner (delivery 8-12 weeks away), would I be welcome at C-Dory gatherings even though my boat won't be a C-Dory?
My hull will be production hull # 2 from Marinaut Boats, Coronet Bay, Washington. Mike Bohart, Fort Collins, Colorado

Sounds good to me, but I dont count much around here. Dave and Les have been bringing the boats to several gatherings so i dont see a reason not to bring yours. Even though its a "c-brats" gathering there will be several tug and other near or ex c-dory boats/ owners there. We have even allowed a few tin boats in the past. This year if larry gets his a$$ in gear there maybe a 36ft mother ship around the docks.

Biggest question is not the boat but the type of beer you are bringing? I like mine dark and bitter, like my wife

Actually, it doesn't matter what kind of boat you have. Just come to the gathering, walk over to the largest bunch of people and start asking someone about their C-Dory. You'll be quite welcome.

The "Daddy" of your boat (Old Growth Dave) and the Marinaut MAN (Les) are charter member C-Dory folks. Your boat has a definite "related" heritage. You will definitely be welcome, and there will be a LOT of interest in your boat. And if anyone says otherwise, there are a bunch of us here who will take 'em out back and teach 'em about "Just be nice." 8)

Congrats on your new boat! :thup

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Hey Tom don't be so hard on yourself. You count for lots around here. Like the "dark and bitter" Crickey if Susan gets on here you're walloped again. :thup George

Mike, congrats and welcome. Your boat is a cousin at least, and C-BRATS is just a big family. Come on over.

Yes, congrats. This is a great site with lots of very useful information. C-nile, the owner of hull #1 has been an active contributor.

Looks like your delivery timing would make for a great shakedown cruise at the Lake Powell gathering in September! You'll see lots of boats and get lots of outfitting ideas. Hope to see you there!

Congratulations Mike! You are going to love your new boat, and I hope for Les and Kathy that the Marinaut will continue to gain in popularity. They earned the trust of my wife and I and not only delivered on what they promised, but they exceeded it beyond our expectations as I am sure they will do for you and all those who follow.
