I just signed a buy sell for a new cdory 25! thanks for all the information over the last few months appreciate all the feed back from every one.
Looked at compared the Seaport 2600 the osprey and a few others great boats by the way, but when you compared the room, the mpg, the trailerability and the price nothing at the Seattle show compared with the 25 thanks again for sharing all your knowledge with me. Duff

Congrats on the new soon-to-be 25. I know you've been considering this for a while... hope you enjoy the boat as much as we've been enjoying ours. :thup

Best wishes,
Jim B.

ya thanks were excited, it will open up a lot of areas to cruise looking forward to taking it up the inland passage, in april will be nice for Flathead lake also. Im thinking about raymarine C70 radar chart plotter all in one dms 300 fish finder. what do you all like for electronics. and we need to figure out a name for the boat.

Congratulations on the purchase! Here's to many years of enjoyment and great experiences with the new boat. :beer

All my best,

Congratulations.

I prefer Garmin for the Chart plotters, Furuno for Radar and Fish finder. If you want high end all of the way--all Furuno. My reservation with RayMarine is the financial status of the company. Some folks have had very good results with Raymarine products.

For the dollar, it is hard to beat the Lowrance--also their technology is cutting edge. But the chart plotter is a bit more difficult to use than Garmin. There have been some complaints with customer service with Lowerance. I have had Lowrance products for over 6 years and only one GPS antenna go bad during this time. Otherwise they are excellent depth sounders and plotters. Look at their new side scan technology-amazing.

Congrats Duff;

Let the (money) customizing game begin. There is a lot of info here abt
what to use, how to do it and where to get it. Check out the albums for
ideas; why reinvent the wheel.

I would suggest you take a hard look at what your real estate setup can
be and use cardboard cutouts to visualize your layouts for your choices.

I have had installed the RayMarine C80/ 4KW Radar/ Chart plotter and
S1G Autopilot system. The autopilot cpu was the only thing that failed
since 2004. I think I may have caused it when I took too much wake, too
fast.

I agree that the Garmin Chart Plotter is much more friendly and the
details are better. I also have the fish finder.

Both chart plotters have GPS receivers. The Garmin has never lost lock;
where as the RayMarine has forced me to do cold restarts. These
intermittent restarts preceded the autopilot failure by 1 year and in
fairness has not occurred since.

You may want to look into a camera to cover your blind spot behind the
helm caused by the head bulkheads. This has saved me several times
where I have to back into the marina slips for retrieval with high boat
traffic and cross currents and countering winds. Boy, I'm glad I went with
the twin 90s.

Duff; I realize I hit you with a lot here. Do take your time and enjoy
every moment planning and doing. Make it a family affair, if your
married. This will pay dividends in the long run.

As you can see.. You can go "nuts" adding to the joy vessel. The CFO
claims if I add any more equipment to Sea Angel, it will roll over. I guess
that's why I carry the extra life jackets; etc..

Welcome to the whole hole-in-the-water love land of C-Dory Land.
