Dear Brats,
My wife Susan and I just took deliver of a new 2013 CD25 at Mobile East Marine on Tuesday! After spending a full year reading the posts on this site we just had to order one, and our initial impression is that it's FANTASTIC!!!
We had the good fortune to be able to choose the options we wanted, and we got a lot of ideas from this forum on how to equip it. The Brats helped me so much you could consider the outfitting "crowdsourced" (or "Bratsourced")!!
Gene and Carrie at Mobile East Marine were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. I would give them my highest recommendation for boat dealers. They really like the quality of the new boats, and the new factory owner is really making an effort to listen to dealers an accommodate what customers ask for.
The factory plumbed my washdown pump to the potable water system and changed the head to the more expensive AirHead with no upcharge. They installed 100% LED lighting for $200. They had trouble finding the Kenyon KISS stove for me, but kept searching and got me one! Many thanks to the factory!
After towing about 300 miles to Southern MD, I've decided that electric over hydraulic brakes were a good call. Braking is smooth, proportional and powerful. Backing up without getting out is a plus. The Tekonsha P3 controller was easy to install in the Sequoia and worked flawlessly (Before joining C-Brats, I never even HEARD of EOH brakes!).
The new boat is named Sea Wings as a nod to my 39 years in aviation. Plus, the C-Dory gives us a similar sense of the freedom of flying...
Susan and I hope to make many Brat trips and gatherings in the future, so be on the lookout for us, especially if we are headed towards you and look a little inexperienced for now...
Pete
P.S. Tyboo set me up with a photo album, so you can have a look...
