New C-Dory Owner

Hi everyone... just want to say hello and introduce myself. I just bought a new 2014, 22 Cruiser. I've been lurking in the background, gathering all the information I could to help me decide which boat to buy!

I can't wait till I get to go pick her up... :D

Welcome aboard, and congratulations! It will be great to see some photos of your boat. Ask the moderators for an album (Da Nag and TaBoo)

Welcome and congratulations. Where is Dixon? Hope you find the boat and this unruly crowd to your liking. We are full of tales and advice some occasionally true or helpful.

Congratulations! How soon do you pick her up?
Barry, Dixon is just a few miles West of Davis. I hope it still has that small town atmosphere that we used to love when we lived nearby.

Thanks for the warm welcome... I'm not sure of the pick up date yet, I was told that it is next in the que at the factory. I retired and me & the wife moved from Santa Rosa to dixon a few weeks ago. Now I have the Delta in my proverbial back yard... I have about 5 or 6 launching Ramps all within 30 mins from my house! ... Life is good.

I live a short distance from the factory, tell me your dealer, and maybe I can stop by and take some pix of your boat in production!

How cool would that be... to be able to see pictures of my boat being built. :)
I am buying it from Sportcraft Marina, in Portland...

Thanks

OK, PM me your name on the order, I will see what I can find out and take some pix! Our pix from our two builds, 2003 on the CD22 and 2005 on the CD25, are among our most treasured pix!

Welcome and congrats on the new C-Dory. You will find it a great investment in pleasure time, peace and sanity, and even the "family" is pretty tolerable too. Great place here, learning, sharing and enjoyment. Looking forward to hearing all about the new adventures.

Enjoy in safety,

Harvey

MISSY,

RE Barry's (C-Dory "Colobear") earlier message about "...and unruly crowd." Fear Not. C-Brat's are mostly harmless ... but they will take DELIGHT in suggesting ways to deflate your retirement funds on these fun(ny) little vessels.

They will suggest equipment you just can't life without (like Autopilot).
They will suggest places you MUST go (like Lake Powell and SE Alaska).
They will temp you with stories of daring-do (check out Jay/Jolee on Hunky Dory).
They will mention things like spending three months in Hawaii if CA winters become burdensome (see George&Carolyn on "Kerry On")
Or ... they may just suggest that you run away from it all and Live Aboard (like Bill&El on Halcyon).

It's a GREAT group ... but they Will lead you astray. Trust me.

Best,
Casey&Mary

Hummmmmm Casey,..... you are letting the cat out of the bag

Really, the factory and the dealers don't tell you. You buy the boat, the family comes with, how much better could it get

I guess the title explains how I feel...

I just returned home from vacation in Hawaii, to a message from "Sportcraft Marina" informing me that my new boat was back from the canvass shop & all the other extra accessories have been installed... so... it's ready to be picked up, looks like its time for a road trip to Portland....

I log into the site to post my good news and excitement, and then I read the news about the fire at the factory...

Make no mistake... first thing in the morning, I'm on my way to OR. to get my new boat, but I'm kinda conflicted. I kinda feel guilty... :?

Welcome to the group. I think there's a good case to be made for the C-Brats site being the single best accessory a boat owner could have. As a long time lurker and recent new owner, we share your excitement. Bob & Cynthia

MISSY Crew: Welcome and for sure take advantage of getting a photo album set up here on the site. I have had computers crash, pictures put in boxes, moved 4 or more times since my C-Dory...and more importantly, my C-Dog/converted/C-Brat family began. Hands down being able to just go online and find photos of times past and enjoyed ranks right up there with having the boats. Congrats...and get us some pictures and names up online. Many safe and fun times aboard! Cheers! :beer
