Well it's official.

We are new C-Dory owners.
I purchased a blue trimmed 2007 C-Dory 25 Cruiser.
She has twin Mercury 90's with 100 hours.

We will be changing her name this weekend so I need to buy enough Champagne for her and my wife and I!

Well - here goes the adventures!

If you hear any popping noises from the direction of Whidbey it will be us emulating your celebration. Congratulations and remember, the big white C-Dory on steroids that inhabits the area is friendly :-) (Unless you are poaching shrimp after hours)

Welcome from Whidbey Island. We're sure you will enjoy your new friend. You have an excellent service facility just across the water, Les and Kathy at EQ harbor service just north of Oak harbor. Don't forget the Friday Harbor CBGT in Mid May. Often there is a "fleet" of sorts going up from Deception Pass so you could find other C-Dorys to travel with.

Hope to see you on the water.

Congrats on the new boat and I hope she treats you very well! I would recommend at least considering permatrims (if not already equipped) if you have any trouble trimming the bow down for a smoother ride. With twins on the stern, they really benefit from the added lift. Worked wonders for us and transformed the boat.

WOW!

We thank you all for the warm welcomes.

I was going to ask about permatrims!!! I don't think they are all equal. Which do you recommend?

Our maiden voyage (depending on gale winds, sleet, hail, snow) will be Thursday to Monday. May Neptune be happy those days!

Scott, "permatrim" is a brand name, much like "coke". It's a particular fin that does the same thing as things like "doel fin", and others. It's only available from one distributor (shipyard island) in the US and made in NZ I believe. They are custom made to fit each brand of OB lower unit and they fit well. Some of the others are "universal" and I don't think fit as well.

That having been said, I've installed several brands but like permatrims the best, they are custom fit to an engine, very rigid and solid and really do what they advertise. Others will chime in with their opinions, that's must MHO. Here's a YouTube Video about them. I don't sell them, just have used them and like them.

A agree with Charlie! They are solid and really feel like part of the motor and work very well to boot!

The prices are reasonable as well:

But run it as is and see what you think. If you are like me and keep the gas tank pretty full plus 8-9 hundred pounds of motor back there, you will feel the weight and feel how hard the trim tabs have to fight to get the bow down. We felt a big improvement in trimming ability and also steering effort reduction as well.

Scott, you need to have an official C-Brat christening of your new boat! It involves greenery and a certain amount of the official C-Brat adult beverage. You should plan to come to the Friday Harbor CBGT (C-Brat Get Together)!

Welcome and congrads.....

Any owner considering a name change needs to review those recommendations set forth by Jon Vigor. Once you get through the process everything else is easy.

The best,

Mike / Kestrel

Congratulations!
I concur, the Friday Harbor CBGT is one of the best!
We have wonderful memories of christening our Kim Christine there in 2010. The good thing is you can wait and do the christening there, the gods don't mind at all.
Good Luck!

Scott, Congrats on the new boat. Enjoy and hope to see you on the water. you are going to love the 25. As to the name, Aren't they fun to come up with, figure the design, then explain the logic. I think that should be part of the christening service but it's not official. Just a question. If the boat name is Absolut-ly would the libation be vodka ---- Just funnin, cause I really don't know anything about that stuff.
