new boat today

Hmmm. I clicked over to EQ's web site, and they got that grey 22 Cruiser, hull number 22259, marked as sold. Ain't that sumthin?!?

tyboo thats the one. I have been dieing to go take pictures of it ,but you all know what a bare c-dory looks like. I will have to wait untill les gets soon work done on it first. He has a boat from the east coast coming in and then his own new 22 fter them mine. but i think he is going to work on mine while waiting for the others to show up. may be if the factory drags its feet on les's boat mine will get done first.

Mr fisherman I saw pics of your boat with 3 or 4 people, big tokes of ice and fish and now i find out 58 gallons of fuel. how mush wieght have you put in that boat and how id it handle.

r-matey glad to hear from you again. we cant wait for summer and the cruising season.

Well I have an Angler and there is more room in the cockpit for stuff like that. I was a bit concerned about handeling a load like that until I saw Red Foxes Brother in law and the pictures of his Moose Hunt. I didn't load my boat at all compared to that trip, great googly moogly.

Anyway, While Tuna fishing I had my commercial Half tote with about 400# of ice, a 150 100 and 80 quart coolers packed with ice, all my Tuna gear, 3 adults, my son who is not getting any smaller, 58 gallons of fuel in the main cell and another 12 gallons in reserve tanks. You could say we were loaded. My Suzuki 90 with the 20 pitch prop planed out surprisingly fast and pushed us up to 34 MPH once or twice that day... It was like glass out there. We fished 13 hours, put on more than 200 miles and burned less than 50 gallons of fuel. I love it. Oh yea, and we brought back over 400# of Tuna. Of course there was an exchange of fish weight for ice weight...
Don't use this as a guideline. You need to know your boat and be comfortable loading and using it the way you choose to. I wouldn't want anyone to think you could do something similar just because I did. I had near perfect weather and I have been doing this stuff for a long time. I am very familiar with my boat and have fished extensively in a variety of conditions.

You are going to love your new boat. I can hardly wait to see you in it....

Congratulations, Tom and Susan. We'll see you out there pretty soon. :)

Hey, Mr. Fisherman, that had to have been one of the most memorable days of your life. As well your crew! What a day that must have been.

TOM & SUSAN: A GREAT BIG YYYYEEEEEEE-HAAAAA :D :D from the east side here in Alabama! I like the high top, and I have seen a bunch of boats rigged.. Les and his guys do GREAT work! It was this time last year when I had cut a deal with LES while deployed and we worked a pick-up of day after Christmas, then back cross our Great Country to get it back to Bama. Had to bolt over to the west COAST.. (thanks to the weather report on portable VHF radio :angel ) that forecasted the snow storm would hit the OR/CA I-5 area about 6 hours prior to what the weather channel was talking. GO NOAA!! We made the cut west, ran the coast and listen to the trafic reports of the closure and record number of folks who were stranded on I-5 at the OR/CA border... who had planed there travel by the weather channel :amgry . What a great opportunity to learn just how my boat towed than to drag her thru the Redwood Forest with rain, sleet, snow, dark..and fog. Other than that, conditions were perfect. The boat did good and we averaged a whopping 32 mph that day after 12 hours of travel. Felt great to get into the Jacuzzi and just close my eyes. Tell Les, Kathy, the guys in the shop, sorry..but I forgot the dogs out front names.... that I said Hey and we'll see them at the boat show. I got the boat that Rusty had after Les added a few more creature comforts to convert her to a sure nuff self contained RV on water.... Apr05 I will spend a month on her to start my retirement life... WELCOME ABOARD and I too think C-DoryTom would also work for a page name here... Has a nicer sound (to me) than starcraftom...... Great Move and Happy Boating...try to get some sleep. Byrdman on FreeByrd

Tom,

Congrats on your new C DORY. I stopped by and talked to Les yesterday and there your boat set. It looked like it was ready for a new owner and to be rigged and then go play in the water. I envy you

And the dog's names - Rocky and Dusty. And the old white headed fixture in the corner with a cup of mud is also Dusty.
Don't wake him up - he's dreaming 'bout 40 pound salmon and 400# of TUNA. And Jon's smoked salmon!

Dusty

byrdman, be glad that storm sent you off of i-5 and in to the red woods. Its better to see the good sides of california then the valley. next time come in the summer and try highway 395 right down the sierras. where were you deployed and with which service. I did 8 years in the marines a while back.

c-spray - thanks and dont worry you will be next. are you going to the boat show? we will be there and at the bbq at the factory. now that i have the boat i can wander all the boat stuff booths more.

u.s.m.c. quiz
1) what famous artist was dishonorably discharged from the corp for striking a officer?
2) What hollywood actor was once a marine drill sargent? (besides the guy from full metal jacket)?

Old Duster just funnin' about the USMC. Been working with 'em and praying for 'em since Iwo. Just don't tell my brother-in-law -- one of the few living "Chosin Few" jarheads from Korea. Poor guy still has so much shrapnel in him he sets of the screening maching in the next lane at the airport.

question #2 is barny fife from mayberry. Any one who has been to basic knows that the worst thing you can do is laugh. can you amagine having him yelling at you and then givin you the big bug eyes. I spent a lot of time being p.t.ed to near death for laughing in boot camp, but i have a sick dry sence of humor.. you know like the british.

dusty if some one was not giving me a hard time it would not be daytime. if your brother sets off the machines at the air port and a women is working the line, tell him to have a senior moment and dont tell her about the metal until after the body search. when your old you have to take what you can get.

Yea, me too!

In Basic Trng, a blk drill instructor was yelling at the guy in formation next to me when he cracked me up with "DO I LOOK LIKE YO SISTER?"

Guess who got to admire his dental work next?

Bill

Dusty.
Say hello to your brother, I to was a Marine at the Frozen Chosin and spent 6 week's from the end of Oct. to Dec, 10th 1950. Never took my clothes off in all that time, never slept in a shelter or ate hot food unless you count C-Rations heated by the exhaust of a tank once and awhile.

I did pick up minor wounds being eye-ball to eye-ball with Chinamen many times. Lost many good friends, no TV or reporters around or they would have had a field-day trying to fault us and make us look bad .

Many, many hero's , mostly dead one's. (makes John Kerry look like a Boy Scout.)

Dusty... Thanks for the names of the two 4 legged dogs at the shop. My opoligize for hitting a "R" on your name rather than a "D". But, you have seen my spelling and were more than likely attempting to give me credit for being close enough to a real word. I picked my boat up the 27th of Dec last year and you were not around. Look forward to meeting you in Jan05.
